best host imaginable.. wouldnt go anywhere else the history and views of this place cannot be put in word. all 3 dogs loved it and im sure we will be back soon

👫Firstly, I want to thank Réal and Johanne for their amazing hospitality. They helped us make fires, helped us with shelter when it rained, helped dry off people’s tents after rainfall. As other reviewers have said, they are so welcoming but not overbearing and allow you to go ahead and have fun.

🏞The location is beautiful. At less than 1.5 hours from montreal, it is a wonderful lakeside property to stay at. They have a communal fireplace, hammocks, beach area, and seatings amongst nature across the land. The campsite wasn’t full when we went, but even if it was, there is plenty of space to walk around and have a private moment across the lot.

⛺️As for the campsites themselves, they are decently sized however they are all stuck together. There isn’t a huge amount of privacy between the plots. The upside is there are only 4 lots with a maximum of 6 people per lot. Even at absolute full capacity, you are sharing the entire site with only 24 people. Plus you can park your car directly on your lot and use them as barriers to create a bit of separation.

🎣 The location has great on site fishing! Caught 3 big bass while we were there. Definitely recommend to any fishing fanatics out there.

❤️Overall I definitely recommend this location. Perfect for first time campers and families. A perfect disconnect from city life. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be visiting again soon!

This is a great site if you’re looking for a relaxed and easy camping experience. It’s a 200-year old grain mill that the hosts bought 12 years back, and over time they’ve totally turned around the place — added a sandy beach, communal fireplace, lots of area to sit and hangout. Also, you can access the river right from the property, where you can take a swim, or
sit and relax, and kids can play in the shallow area. We really enjoyed it and would love to get back with family!

Real and Joan are great hosts — they gave us a tour of the property at our arrival and then they were always available if we needed any help. It started to rain heavily during our stay, they quickly got to action, and setup a tent over the picnic table so that we could eat comfortably. They gave us a tour of their wood workshop as well! We are thankful for their hospitality.

Réal and Johanne were amazing hosts. I would just like to start off by thanking them for their hospitality, liveliness and incredible conversation. Paradis d’artistes is a place everyone should visit AT LEAST once in their lives. For my first every experience camping, it was one I will never forget. Just to be able to listen to their beautiful waterfall all evening (especially sitting by the huge and impressive campfire homemade by Réal) was pure serenity. As soon as you set foot on the property you can tell that Johanne and Réal take care of and love their home just as much as they love sharing it with others. They love to hear from you every once in a while but if you are looking for some time alone, they respect and offer that for your entire trip. It’s very nice to know that you can have company whenever you please! From eating their towns delicacies to swimming directly up onto the waterfall, it felt like a piece of heaven had fallen onto earth. I have always loved stars, but I have never seen them as breathtaking and as clear as they were at Paradis d’artistes. Réal and Johanne, it is inspiring to see the life that you live and the love you give to everyone who enters your space. I STRONGLY recommend this listing to anyone with who is searching for a little bit of magic in a grand property. We will miss you! See you next summer :)

The hosts are super nice. Amazing service too. Simply awesome place for camping. Very calm and peaceful with a beautiful view by the river. We had a very unique campfire, enjoy refreshing swim in the river. My kids love this place so much. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

The place is just beautiful, bring your guitar to play around that amazing fire pit and enjoy the waterfall.

It was a lovely experience for us and my husky lab. Réal and Joanne are truly amazing host and makes us feel so welcomed and comfortable. We get a chance to play in the river and waterfalls. Lovely place, well maintained and not too far from the city. We are so glad we met the host and able to stay at their site.
