The 10 acres here is surrounded on most sides by wild public land. It is directly above Lock 13 and near Lock 12 and situated beside an off-shoot pond of the Susquehanna River. Great swimming spot! This is in Slab Hollow -- the Slab Run Creek turns into a beautiful, cascading waterfall featuring a series of dipping pools before culminating in a gorge. There are campsites on the 10 acres here, nestled among the garden, nursery, and future food forest, and there are also sites directly beside the property on the public land at Conowingo Ponds Preserve. Terrain is gently sloping for the most part, with some rocky scrambles and cliffs. There are some flat, rock-free areas for tenting, and stone fire rings and split wood logs available for campfires. House has bathroom amenities and electrical outlets, and there is internet accessible in the yard through WiFi. There are endless hiking opportunities here as the Mason-Dixon Trail borders the property. The trail is 200 miles long from start to finish and terminates on the Appalachian trail. Continue on down River Road another mile or two, and there is a public-access boat launch and parking lot. Bring your canoe or kayak! The Muddy Creek is a short paddle away, and you can spend endless hours exploring the numerous rocky islands along this stretch of the Susquehanna River. Lots of bald eagles, herons, fish, pawpaw,  persimmon trees, and more...

It was nice. Zach informed me the place was overbooked but still made accommodations on his property for me which matched exactly what I was looking for that night. I appreciate his effort and his willingness to afford me the solitude I was looking for. Which is to say, he allowed me to camp on his property without being too fastidious about my presence. I very much appreciate the experience and his service.
