Marie’s campsite is absolutely wonderful! Marie is such a lovely, thoughtful, and warm host. She is very helpful to suggest active events and local areas to explore. Her farm is also a lovely bonus! I would highly recommend visiting here, and would love to again myself!
Can’t say enough about Pasture Campground on this working, horse rescue farm. We loved our campsite kingdom here! Marie is an absolute gem…kind, so welcoming, super efficient and accommodating. The campsite is a large very private back pasture behind the working farm area. It’s surrounded by trees, a small brook and site is equipped with an open roof solar power hot water shower room (plenty of hot water!), a washing station, a fire ring with a super cool hanging grill over fire, fire wood, chairs, picnic table, welcome box with information about the campsite and area, a very clean port-o-pot, and a hammock. We loved hiking, stargazing, taking photos of nature, their farm and animals, and just plain relaxing in this beautiful place. The site was also perfect for our dog. We hope to come back with our grandchildren who would absolutely love this farm. Highly recommend Pasture Campground! Thank you for a great stay!
Beautiful camping area behind a working farm with Horses, Chickens, and other animals.
Marie set up fantastic accomodations with a restroom, sink, and even a hot shower! Hammock out back, fire pit, wood, what more can you ask for?
Very quiet and dark at night for enjoying the stars. Within an hour of lots of hiking at Allegheny.
Highly recommend!
The other reviewers aren’t lying. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
We started by ignoring Marie's directions (clear, but my navigator enjoys optimizing ALL directions) and took the gravel road over the hill she recommends to avoid. Having lived on a dirt road so bad we sometimes had to hoof it about 200 m up a hill, I didn't think the road was bad at all. Your mileage will vary based on experience. Don't use that road with any sports car. Any 4/AWD veh is fine, our loaded front-wheel drive minivan had no issues (+ a teen driver!)
Site is very large on a sloped pasture with a large level landing at the bottom, room for 8 cars. Besides the bottom of the hill, there are 3 level tent spots on the "stadium hill." One fairly close to the cars, one under the tree, and one past the hammock on top of the hill. The top two would be a pretty long stumble in the dark down to the shower/PortaPot.
Fire Ring is very nice w chairs and dry wood provided + binder of area & site info. Fire ring has cool hanging grill! We used it to pre-warm a log in spotty rain. Good view of hills on far side of the valley obscured from pond, farmhouse and outbuildings, but rooster can be clearly heard. Shower was a REAL TREAT. HOT water, plenty of it, under open sky. Fantastic! There is structure for a roof, but hopefully they don't put one up, open sky is much better. I adjusted the latch to hold. Wildflowers and a toad! Breakfast: fresh eggs, bacon, muffins (non-GF) fruit, coffee. GF needs kindly accommodated!
Absolutely one of the best places we’ve camped and we camp all year. Marie was amazingly accommodating. The site was beautiful. The shower was hot. View was great. Tons of hiking right in the area. Secluded. Definitely could accommodate a dozen people. There was even a mowed path to walk. We’ll be back.
Definitely in my top favorite camps. The scenery is beautiful and campsite is private. Marie is a great host and takes pride in her property and animals. Highlight amenities are the camp shower, the breakfast delivered, the rowboat on the pond, and not the least a mountain trail to a nice overlook. It really is a perfect spot.
This host was very helpful and available to us throughout our stay. She was accommodating and responded quickly to messages. The campsite itself was amazing and the animals were very sweet. I would definite recommend this farm for a weekend away.
We arrived late…really late and we’re greeted with a smile and a crackling campfire already rip roaring so instead of rolling in, setting up, and passing out, we got to roll in, set up, and sit back and stargaze. Which really set the tone for our stay.
The large field was private, and enclosed enough for both of our pups to spend three days off leash which is huge for us. The shower, sink and portopotty were well placed, clean, and convenient.
The hike from camp was really beautiful along the creek and the farm was just close enough that our three year old could wander down to see the horses and chickens to burn off some energy after dinner.
This was a truly relaxing place to hang. While we are normally hell bent on adventuring hard when we travel, we found ourselves really enjoying just watching our kid run around, read books, pick wildflowers, and play in the tent. We did take a day to check out Kinzua bridge. very kid and dog friendly. Definitely worth the day.
Marie (and Cody) were very attentive hosts. We’d highly recommend staying with them if you are headed up their way.
*Definitely read the welcome book… we didn’t until the last day they offer a lot more on the property than we realized like a boat on a pond.
**Definitely order breakfast at least for your last day and get some farm fresh eggs to go! Marie might even let your kiddo pick them from the chicken coop. *phone service was nil but that was also part of the fun.
