Quaint camping in a small pa town
Thomas was an excellent host who was super nice and helped me maximize my short 2 night stay. He's got a nice (slightly difficult) hike right on the property to a sweet scenic overlook that he pointed me to. He had the fire going when I arrived because I got delayed, so extra plus for that!
Great cheap spot next to aoaa
Only thing that I would have changed was how private it was. It was right off the road. You can’t miss it. Look for Bigfoot 😂
Although it was a few feet from the road through the trees and it’s a 50mph road it’s really not that busy for it to bother me. Even during the day . I had NO SIGNAL. (Which I didn’t really mind) . There were two other guys camping next to me but they were quiet and it was a good distance. For( social distancing)
Me and my daughter came with my dog for the weekend to take the jeep to AOAA. An off-road park right up the mountain. There are some big rocks so until they are cleared out with a flatter road. Anything less then a Jeep Wrangler maybe be hard to park at the site. (I have a stock 4dr wrangler and was able to pull my small trailer to the spot with some guidance of Thomas). Plenty of firewood to take from around the property! Thomas was a great host. I this will probably be my go to spot for whenever I come to AOAA
Not bad at all
Just off a road way. But we didn't mind . The area was quiet . Plenty of wood available , enough space , picnic table , and an outhouse. Only thing I would change is the size of the outhouse , it was a bit small. But hey , for the price. I can't really complain. Had a great time. Will definitely return.
Great host, property and stay
Thomas was a great host, quick to respond to all texts, very helpful, even helped us put our tent up and start our fire, and the property is very pretty. Great spot for hiking. My friend I spent the night and plan on returning sometime soon with our families.
I’ll start by saying Thomas is a very kind host.
This campsite is more of a campsite if you are on a road trip or a hunting trip or really are not looking to enjoy peace and quiet.
It’s right off of the road and idk if there was some sort of even happening but there were sooo many big trucks all day and night speeding down the road, so the privacy and peace was minimal. There are also houses a stones throw away so once again, you’re not out in the woods camping.
Like I said, not a good location for enjoying nature and getting away.
Great location if you need a cheap place to stay on a road trip or cheap accommodations if you’re going to spend all day doing things away from camp.
Has a bathroom and metal grates to go over the fire pit for cooking
Buyer Beware. Thomas may be a good guy, but his camp is not. I paid for 3 nights but never used it because when I got there, I found that the parking was on a steep incline only 20 feet off the side of the road. Since I was Car camping, it was worthless. I did check out the rest of the site . The area he cleared for a tent was rocky, not level and 20 feet from and above the road level so traffic noise is high and privacy non existent. This is not case of miscommunication; I had emailed about the level issue several times and that I was car camping. With a roof top tent..but Thomas wrote it was very level. His reviews are misleading
