This campsite is at a private lodge on top of a mountain in the heart of Pennsylvania's free roaming elk range. Between September to November, elk will be seen frequently on the property, and almost non stop bugling can be heard. The PA Game Commission maintains a 20 acre food plot only 500 yards from the campsite, where Elk, deer, and other wildlife can be seen daily.

First off, the general area is beautiful, and the location is PERFECT for elk spotting! Very close to popular lookouts and the visitor's center. The campsite itself exceeded all expectations! Private, but not remote, so we felt safe here. There was wifi, which was helpful since there is no cell service in the area. Definitely not an essential perk, but from a safety standpoint, much appreciated. The bathroom was clean and WARM!!! Which was totally not expected and welcome for our first below freezing trip of the season. Everything was extremely well kept, I could not recommend this place more. We met the host during our stay and he was incredibly welcoming and friendly but did not bother us during our stay. In fact, he even started a fire for us and brought over a pile of wood one evening while we took the kids to look for elk. Imagine our delight when we came back to that!
This was the best camping trip ever. The campsite was amazing-clean, well kept, close to all the Visitor center, town, and the viewing areas. It’s private and out of the way. Matt was a wonderful host. Very kind and helpful when our gps took us to the wrong spot. I hope to make many more trips to this campsite in the future.
We didn’t arrive until late and had an electrical issue but Matt was great and came the next morning to fix it. Sadly we weren’t lucky enough to have any Elk on the site while we were there but saw plenty in the area! The site was very nice. The Fall foliage and elk were breathtaking! We had a great weekend away!

We did not actually meet Matt, but we did have good communication by messaging with him. We were totally happy with our camping experience. We have a 25' motorhome and his lot accommodated us nicely. There was electric and water available. There was also a campfire ring and wood provided. We were only there 1 night but we were very satisfied.
