This was a fantastically rugged yet accommodating camping spot with a bricked-in fire pit, grill rack, and lean-to. Jason was there to greet us upon arrival and when we left. He was hospitable and pointed out the property line. He said if we needed anything we could call/text him. We didn’t need anything and we had a great time there. There was a downpour of rain one night and we stayed cozy and dry inside the lean to. We brought our own large tarp and bungies to close the opening. No leaks to the structure. Clean and dry all night. I loved how it was totally private and even though host’s home was within walking distance, it felt like we were secluded in the middle of the forest.
Little Mill Creek Campsite was perfect for our rustic camping reunion with my sister and her daughters. Our host, Jason, was so welcoming and available by texting at all times (which made us feel safe). He gave us great details about the private land we could use and the surrounding hiking areas. There were 7 of us women staying in the lean-to and the structure was so nice that we decided not to set up our tent and instead just roll out our cots and sleeping bags on the floor and attach our hammocks to the hooks inside the lean-to. The structure was great protection from the thunderstorms and we added a tarp with bungees, that we brought, to the front of the structure for the rainy night, but there is enough of a roof overhang that we probably would have been fine without it. We kept food and garbage in the cars at night to deter any critters. Be prepared that there is no electric, toilet or water, as described, and you must carry out all trash. Our favorite part was the privacy of the site so that we could laugh and talk into the night without bothering anyone. There is a nice brick structure and grate for cooking and some starter wood (and more available for purchase). We drove to our hiking destinations. We hiked in Cook Forest one night to the Fire Tower and along the river. The next morning we hiked in the Allegheny National Forest to the Overlook on the Kennerdell trail and followed the trail which crossed several bridges over water. It was gorgeous! We would definitely rent this hipcamp site again. Thank you Jason.

Thanks Barby, your family is welcome anytime. We really appreciated having you stay at our location.
Jason was very responsive and kind. The lean to was super clean and comfortable. Jason even had a fire started before I arrived. This was a fantastic stay!

Jason was very kind and accommodating, and clear about the property boundaries and expected conduct. The site is lovely.

Thanks Gregory. I appreciate the review. Hopefully next time you travel this way it will not be under the shadow of COVID-19 and we can meet in person. Thanks again.
It was a pleasure meeting Jason. The campsite is out of this world! Amazing scenery, amazing hospitality(Jason goes out of his way to make his guests feel very comfortable). Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience for my family. Thank you Jason god bless you and your wonderful family.

The campsite was perfect for what I wanted. It was clean well-maintained and I felt safe. I was able to hang my hammock in the shelter, enjoy a fire before bed and wake to the sounds of birds chirping echoing through the woods...what’s not to like!

Jason was a wonderful host! We had heavy rain one evening into the morning so the lean-to was perfect to keep us warm and dry. The lean-to is spacious, easily fit our tent and all our gear. Jason was very attentive with offering help and suggestions on what to do and where to go for activities and good. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone!
Jason was a fantastic host and the site was even better than we could have anticipated! The lean to was very accommodating - we actually pitched our two person tent inside which worked great! Plenty of wood for a fire after purchasing a "bundle" from Jason. He's thought of everything and was very welcoming. A great change of pace from a crowded campsite and a very beautiful, peaceful, setting.
The site is great - private, secluded, wooded. Very quiet. The sounds of birds in the morning are a wonderful way to wake up. Jason is a terrific host. He is easy to communicate with and he made sure I had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again.
