Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We purchased this property in 1994 and began to sculpt our dream. Starting with a small block camp and a swamp we built a large pond, a beautiful home and a large garage. In 2008 we made Ruby's Rocks our forever home and sold our home in St. Marys. Now our kids are all grown and journey home to our little haven in the woods. Learn more about this land: Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site at the moment and plan to add just a few more. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table and a trash can. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Only a 3 mile drive will land you at the East Branch Lake, a seven mile long lake where you can put your boat in and fish, kayak or water ski to your hearts content. Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Fishermen's Paradise Campground
Susan’s land was beautiful and well-kept. She made sure we had anything we needed for our stay and even brought us fresh eggs from her hens for a first morning breakfast. Would absolutely come again.

Fishermen's Paradise Campground
This location is perfect for a visit to the trout gods of the Clarion River. Literally a one minute walk from camp to the river. Capm was clean and easily accessible. Host was great at communicating and directions were spot on. I will be back again with my fly rod.

Fishermen's Paradise Campground
Susan, was a very kind, accommodating hostess. The site was tucked away in a nicely wooded area, within a short distance of a pond. It had rained recently, and the site was quite muddy and buggy, however, so we decided not to stay. If it had been another time, it may have been okay, but it was not what we were hoping for.

Frogs Paradise <3
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here! Though it rained, we had shelter, the canopy of trees helped our fire from going out all day long. The tent spot was level, the added swing was precious, and we spent so much time looking for frogs along the pond. The river across the road is was cool and peaceful. The porta potty by the kayak launch was clean and only a two minute walk, if you don’t have a camp toilet. Perfect for our weekend away!
