Tent camping at Doug’s was awesome. Beautiful spot next to the river. Good spots for a couple of tents. Fire pit had a grate to make cooking easy. The site was spaced well away from the second site for privacy. Bathroom block with shower and power outlets was only a couple of minutes walk away. Bathrooms were very clean and Doug provided soap, sunscreen, insect repellent and hand sanitizer. The river was shallow only going to waist deep when we were there. There are few trails in and around Doug’s property, along with the island to explore. Access to the island required wading across the river but was an adventure for the kids. Overall had a very good time and planning our next trip there.

Loved the location and the view. Right next to the lake. The hosts were welcoming & site was peaceful. Would visit again.
Doug's place is very nice and full of history. The two campsites are right on the water which was a pleasure to sleep to the sound of. As arranged, there was a stone firepit and firewood waiting for me upon arrival. The two campsites are far enough away from each other so that you don't notice or hear the other person.
Regarding parking -- there is a parking lot about 100ft from the campsite and Doug shares a cart you can use to move your things. He was very relaxed about driving up to the site -- I came on a motorcycle and pulled right up. It just depends what kind of vehicle you have.
We had a lovely time. Doug was very hospitable and accommodating. The facilities were clean and the scenery was so beautiful. Would definitely come back!
We ended up staying at campsite 2 because it was open and was a more private site. Both sites are really nice. The pump house property is so cool. When we arrived, Doug met us and showed us the site, chatted a bit, and set us up with a cart to unload our stuff. We had a really nice time. Super quiet, the creek is really great (I went for a swim) and the nice clean bathrooms were a bonus. We would definitely come back again.
This was a great spot along the very clean Catawissa Creek. There were several flat areas to pitch a tent and the rock fire ring had a large grate you lifted off and on. Site 2 has the spot with the little cascades that were drowned out at site 1 with the night creature sounds. Site 2 is close that you hear conversations of people but no other site around. Site 2 does walk by site one to get anywhere but there’s a path they take that doesn’t cut through site 1. I’d definitely go here again, but probably choose site 2 next time. The bathroom was very clean and the grounds were fun to walk around and explore with my dog.
I cannot believe how amazing Doug’s place is! Guests are welcomed by Doug, Lisa and Dan with their beautiful smiles and were welcomed by their friendly cats. Needless to say, bathrooms were decorated beautifully and clean. The buildings on the property were decorated with Doug’s cool artworks and flower arrangements all over the grounds were breathtaking. The kids didn’t want to leave the friendly cats. This place is full of positive vibes and peace. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your beautiful campground and for your welcoming smiles. I am already looking to book for another stay here.
Great stay! Lovely host and location of site. The bathrooms were a big plus. We stayed overnight to take our kids to Knoebels (about 20 mins from the park). Highly recommend!
