Secluded & quiet, couldn’t ask for a better site. Hosts were very hospitable and respectful of our privacy. Close to the Black Moshanon forest and great hiking. Will definitely be back. Thank you Anne and Dustin!
Wish i never had to leave!
I would have stayed for weeks, if not months. Purple pines was the most beautiful, comfortable, safe, relaxing spot for our weekend camping trip. We had plans to hike Black Moshannon trails Friday and Saturday, but couldn't find it in us to leave the camp site. It was exactly the escape we were looking for and I cannot give a high enough recommendation for Anne's property. You want to stay here, trust me!
First camping trip with wife :)
Beautiful location, was big enough to set up my large canopy and large tent. The hosts were polite and courteous, and worked with me to make our stay pleasant :). The outhouse is AMAZING! Its a short walk from the site, and I don't know how they do it, but this is the first camp site outhouse I been to where I didn't have to share it with spiders and other critters. There is a stocked DAM nearby and boy o boy the trout was biting! Will keep this site in mind for future camping expeditions :).
Safe, secluded, serene!
Purple Pines. What a wonderful spot! Safe. Secluded. Serene. This is a large site and it’s the only site which makes it very peaceful. There are lots of sturdy pines for hammocks and plenty of kindling type wood surrounding the site. The a-frame outhouse is very clean and merely a short walk away. Anne is an awesome host, very communicative and welcoming from our first contact. I arrived way early, but Anne graciously said to come on to the site. She greeted me and gave me the “lay of the land.” Anne even offered me blankets when the weather turned a little brisk. My four nights at Purple Pines were restful, rejuvenating, and fun!
Thank you, Anne!! I’m looking at my calendar for when to return!
Pine forest lover's delight
This is a beautiful piece of land with friendly hosts, great firewood, loads of tall pines, a pretty stream, and a clean composting toilet. The highway is close, but it was more like background white noise (not obtrusive). I had a good night's sleep. I would definitely love to return to Purple Pines.
