If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
It was fantastic!
We had electricity, a water cooler and our own private outhouse steps away from bunkhouse (very clean) felt like Grandmom’s bedroom!
Ceiling fan , and a coffee pot with coffee!
And the view when you awake is breathtaking ! The peaceful surroundings make you want to stay longer . We had our lunch by the freshwater pond and my little one went swimming . They have a paddle boat, canoes, and a kayak.
If you’re an animal lover you must visit . They have two pigs who roam free and are hilarious ! Six dogs that are as friendly as can be . Two ducks that are blessed to live in the pond. Barnyard cats that always want attention . Goats and sheep that have their own private pasture with little houses . Then there is the barn! I think I counted thirty horses ! You can’t spend enough time in the horses stable.
If you need an escape and some peace and quiet please visit .
We are headed back next month !
This place is a dream if you love farm animals. I could barely contain my excitement with their cuteness!...30 horses, cows, dogs, cats, ducks, pigs!...the pigs and two horses have free roam of the property and they are so sweet.
The cabin is right next to the barn where there is a toilet. The cabin has a queen bed and a bunk bed. The bed was super comfy and I slept like a dream. And then I woke up to the most beautiful view outside of the window, with the horses in the field.
I recommend bringing rain boots or some type of boot that you might mind trashing or can wash easily. It is a farm so there is animal poop as expected.
The pond is so peaceful with just the sounds of nature and no traffic.
Milton and his partner are so sweet! This made the stay even better. And this was my first HipCamp experience; it couldn’t have been better! Xo
Host and staff are nice, but the place is not worth it even for a cheap $45/night. I booked 4 nights and the minute we checked the toilet, I modified my booking to 2 nights. I understood it was porta toilet but I expect it to be clean. Imagine that they only clean the toilet once a week on Wednesday when the cleaner comes, and we came Monday so it's been used for almost a week without cleaning and they did not even refill the toilet paper which was almost empty. The pond which they offer for swimming is dirty and unmaintained even the kayaks have mosses. The posted pictures with kids swimming by other hipcampers must be when the pond was new or it was still maintained. There is also no wifi from the cabin which I needed to connect for an important personal commitment and one reason I booked this property. Wifi is only available in their main house which is about 300 ft. away.
And we couldn't last 2 nights so we packed up and left after only one night! I should've have known "you get what you pay for" but I was encouraged by the good reviews which I now doubt are filtered only to show the good ones. I hope my review will show up.
I would totally recommend MLW Stables! Not only is it a great place to get away and explore the nearby parks, but the stables house so many beautiful and friendly horses and animals! Being a horse lover myself, I really enjoyed getting to meet each horse. Our host was so gracious and his love for people and animals is evident in everything he does. Our cabin was newer and well kept--it had a rustic and western feel. I loved getting to see the beautiful pond behind the stables and also getting to ride in the indoor arena. My friends and I really enjoyed our visit!
It was great staying with Milton! We had lots of fun hanging out with the animals and enjoying the peace on the farm. It was unexpectedly cold over the weekend (in the 30s) but Milton supplied tons of blankets and sleeping bags to keep us warm. It was chilly but we were surprisingly cozy in the cabin. I would definitely come back again!
Animal lovers paradise
The warmest of welcomes from our hosts! We loved the rustic yet extremely tasteful decoration of the cabin. We enjoyed the company of the numerous animals of what feels like a sanctuary of kindness.
A must visit!
This farm was a dream and the hosts were amazing! We had a truly transformative experience! We were lovingly greated at the gate and treated so well until we drove away. We experience therapeutic horse back riding, a day of boats on the pond and napping on the dock, a restful sleep, and a welcoming and caring environment by all that we on the farm including roaming piggies, horses, friendly pups. I couldn’t say enough and we highly recommend Double Rainbow Farms! It was an honor to meet these hosts!
Paradise on earth
This was my first experience with Hipcamp and what an experience it was! The hosts were so warm and welcoming that I felt like I visited a long lost family. The farm itself is just amazing? With 30+ horses, dogs, cows, pigs, geese and other animals, you will find yourself in a most beloved animal story ever. I can not only recommend, but definitely vouch for the their farm! Such an amazing experience, and will definitely come back!
Staying at wonderful rainbow farm
From start to finish we had a most wonderful time staying for 2 days at MLW Stables/Rainbow Farm!
Upon arrival we first walked through both sides of the stable to greet each beautiful horse.
Then we met our very gracious and wonderful host Milton and his partner George, who let us know if there was anything he could do for us to just let him know.
Our cute little cabin was perfect for us, with very comfortable beds, quilts and feather bed, Keurig coffee maker and coffee, spring water fed hose right outside the door, as well as the clean outhouse, and very large firepit with more than ample firewood right next to the cabin as well. There was a great deck right outside the door too with a great view of the pond, mountains and roaming horses, about 40 of them.
Two beautiful rescue horses, 3 friendly pigs, and a good assortment of very friendly dogs visited us regularly right at our cabin. The pond was wonderful for boating, swimming or just sitting, and a duck trio kept us company there.
On our first night we met Milton's sister Sandra and their mother, who so kindly and generously brought us homemade blueberry and apple pie - it was delicious! And whenever we saw Milton he would share with us a charming, interesting or poignant story which we enjoyed very much.
We even had a fun donkey cart ride with 'Mr. Donkey-iote' - guided by his owner Jan.
There was still more to do and explore and we loved our stay and didn't want to leave, but alas had to.
