Mason's campground was such a perfect hidden gem to find! My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the tall oaks campsite and we had such a wonderful time! To start, Mason met us & took us to our campsite, gave us info & a map with all the trails & things to see which was very helpful to us. Our campspot had plenty of room and seating for at least 4 other people. We were supplied with a good amount of firewood, a grill for cooking, and a hammock. The view from our spot was just breathtaking, honestly the best view I've ever had camping. We walked around most of the property & every campsite seemed to have an amazing view. Besides the campsite, we spent almost an entire day just exploring everything on the property since there was so much to see. There was a great scenic overlook with a little swing on the property near the solar farm where we went and watched the stars at night. In the day time there were many butterflies up near the farm & chickens I enjoyed visiting with. There were yard games like horseshoes and corn hole, we played checkers in the game garden for a while and then visited the awesome tree house a little further down and just relaxed & looked at the wildlife all around. Also appreciated the bath house which was very clean & well stocked with supplies you may need and the communal water and electrical spot on the property as well! There was so much care & love put into this piece of land and we would love to come back again with friends!
Very nice and private campsites with a beautiful view of the valley. The facilities at the site were all top notch and we even got to break in our new fire ring (worked just fine Mason). The trails are nicely maintained with cool surprises like games and a truly awesome treehouse for meditation and nature watching. The on-site outhouses were clean and well maintained and the bathroom/shower at the camp store was as well and was greatly appreciated.
This is exactly why I joined Hip Camp. Experiencing various beautiful properties that owners are willing to share, and all have respect for the land, the nature and the privacy of an intimate camping experience differentiates Grouseland from MANY other campgrounds. We will definitely return, and we have our eye on a stay at the cabin also.
Came to visit tall oaks for a weekend based off of some Hipcamp reviews. All I can say is the pictures you may see on here does the site 0 justice. The views are amazing and worth the price of admission alone. Mason was extremely helpful with meeting us at the entrance and taking us to our campsite. He made himself extremely available during the course of our stay and helped when we needed firewood and food suggestions. Upon arriving to the campsite There was also a jug of water waiting for us. Mason, and the rest of the staff at Grouselands couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. The customer service takes the place over the top, for me.
If you decide to stay on property, my biggest suggestion is, when the night is clear walk up to the open space near the solar farm and you can witness some of the greatest star gazing opportunities. I’m traveling from a city, so I don’t get many chances to see such clear sky’s and staying on this property gave me the chance to see some amazing sites. Additionally the sunsets are second to none.
Camping with a view
My family and I had a lovely camping trip at Grouseland despite the rain! Campsite is very spacious, and far enough away from the other sites to afford plenty of privacy. The property has plenty to see and do! You can’t beat the big private mountain view. Would absolutely stay again!
Great view, great host
Mason was a great host starting with the communications to ensure we had directions to the campground. Lots of nice touches such as the hammock & painted picnic table. The view from the site was amazing.
Tall oaks was an incredible escape. Mason runs a very homey spot. Trails, chickens, scenic overlooks and games like corn hole, horse shoes and chess are spread out through the property. The views were spectacular. I had minimal service up there, but I liked it that way. Highly recommended!
This campsite has a great view. Fire woods, trash and recycling cans are provided for the site. We enjoyed our stay even though it was raining. We had to check in pretty late and Mason waited for us and showed us our site when we got there.
