Need to get away or traveling and need a one night stay, this is a private campsite for you and your friends and family just outside of York Pennsylvania. As fellow campers we know how fun getting away can be and we strive to provide you with the most secluded and clean site possible. Everybody knows the irritations of camping at state and public parks and how cramped campsites can be. Here we allow only one party to camp at a time, so you can have the whole 50 acres to yourself and companions.
Description of camp:
The campsite is a level hilltop clearing surrounded by woods. We have a stone driveway that leads to the site that gets you back into the woods. The driveway is wide enough for trucks, trailers, vans, etc. Since the site is up high it gets a great breeze which helps on warm days and gets good cell service. The campsite gets great sun and has shaded areas along the sides that make for good tent pitching. We have had people set up hammocks, tents, tarps, or camp in their vehicle. We provide a privy, an outdoor shower/changing room, a charcoal cooking pit, level picnic table, and a metal fire pit with grill rack that you can put in the fire pit if you wish to cook/grill over it. The woods are hilly so biking can be difficult in sections, but there is great biking and running on the roads near the campsite that gets good shade in the warm summer weather. On the property we have 2 miles of hiking trails that are marked with fluorescent ribbon. PLEASE feel free to contact us for any questions. Also please look at our pictures for a better idea of what we offer.
A short drive from here will take you to Gettysburg, York, or Hanover. There are many excellent restaurants and brewpubs nearby, including the award winning Warehouse Gourmet Bistro and Brewpub. For more information read our activities section to find out what other things we provide or have nearby that you can do.
*If people do not book the site within a few days of availability we may lower the price. So if you are unsure please click on the days you wish to camp and check the price. Also holidays are priced a little more like 4th of July, Memorial Day, labor day Day.
We have a weeknight discount for the site which is 37 dollars (Sunday-Thurdsay nights). Friday night and Saturday night we charge 40 dollars. Any additional guests after five we charge 3 dollars per person. We allow up to 10 guests. We have some available offers listed on our site that you may purchase when you book the site. These include ice water, and a set of cornhole you may rent. The water is 5 dollars and the cornhole is 3 dollars. For more information on these items please go to our offers section.
Things we ask:
Extinguish camp fires that are unattended and to only make them in the designated fire pit/ BBQ pit, no noise past 9 o'clock, discharging of firearms and fireworks are prohibited, do not bring firewood as there is wood here (in order to prevent invasive bug spread), please keep your pets attended/on a leash, clean up after your pets, be respectful of wildlife (take memories leave only footprints), and have fun

Great private camping area
Great camping area! You get exactly what’s on the description. I loved the privacy and easy access.
Doug and his wife were very kind and brought us some extra wood to help set up the fire pit. We had a great night out there. Next time I’ll go when the weather isn’t so cold and we can go out on the trails around.
Hipcamp photographer review!
If you are looking for fabulous and PRIVATE star-gazing .. this is your place!! The wide open space provides for a killer view of the sky. We thoroughly enjoyed having the seclusion all to ourselves and the simplicity of the campsite. We thought the landscape could be maintained a bit better and maybe some solar lights leading you to the outhouse .. but other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!
This spot is a great site tucked away on the top of a hilltop in rural PA! The outdoor shower is a plus in good weather and having water brought to the site was a huge help. I didn't get a chance to explore the trails but slept well under the stars.
We stayed @ esidarap mountain for 2 nites. The space was gr8. My favorite part was the corn holes. Talk about an action packed weekend (things got craaazy!) My second favorite part was the view. Pinks & purples & blues, hovering over a sea of green. 5 stars. We wanted to cry when the trip was over but found our faces grinning bc the memories were too gr8.
Was a nice location and very quiet. We had a great time. Wish the grass would have been mowed to help keep the bugs down. I wish I would have brought wood or tools to chop wood as there wasn’t much provided that was already chopped to manageable sizes. We loved that there was a hand broom in the out house to clean out all the cobwebs and dead bugs. I would recommend it as a nice site though. 👍
A little slice of ‘paradise’
Thank you for sharing!!. We spent two nights and loved every second. The privacy and solitude were priceless. The camp was everything as described and more. The sense of peace recharged both of us. We WILL return!!
We arrived late due to traffic during our journey so it cut our stay a little short, didn't get to explore the trails as much as we wanted before night fell. Firewood was an easy task, just a (very) short walk. Outhouse was a great addition and the view of the sky at night is great. Got the ice water and man was it cold when we got there, super refreshing after the little loop we were able to hike. Got to learn some tree species, there's even a young persimmon tree. Tons of butterflys flying around. Definitely going to be staying here again in the future! Left a little pile of fire wood for the next lucky campers :)
