The campsite alongside the canal was beautiful, and MJ and Jeff were very friendly, welcoming hosts. They went above and beyond in their hospitality, making sure that I was comfortable. The new outhouse was clean and easy to use, huge points for that! and they had a canopy set-up with a table which was really useful for cooking. They even had the fire ring loaded with wood and ready to light with a match. I loved the goats and dogs!

This site is a good option for introducing those reluctant friends that have never camped before to their first foray into camping. MJ was a great, hospitable host and the free firewood was a pleasant surprise upon arrival. The nearby canal makes for a convenient fishing spot and a nice white noise background while sleeping.

Simply awesome spot and GREAT hosts! We arrived after midnight and were greeted by Jeff who directed us to the site. M.J. and Jeff had prepared the site for our arrival with firewood, a large pavilion tent and a brand new latrine! The sound of water falling over centuries old canal locks, the rolling meadow, cows that beg for apples, the dogs, the goats - everything was wonderful. My wife even audited one of M.J.'s pottery classes! The site is a complete get-away, yet only minutes from town. I would highly recommend!

Peaceful (and level!) spot in the woods. New latrine is behind the trash cansNothing like a campfireOur view from the back of the vanNice tent set up for our arrival
