Dennis Alan City Boy Homesteader here. I moved from the NYC area to build an off grid homestead on a bare 28 acres in central PA surrounded by Amish farms. The land is still pretty much raw and beautiful with many different spots on the property to pitch a tent for the night or week! From pitching a tent on an open pasture, surrounded by trees alone, next to a creek, or even in an old rock quarry. That's right there are two old rock quarries that you could take advantage of. The small on has it's own little cave at the base and the larger one has a stage made of rocks to facilitate shows there. Our neighbor is the famous Woodward Cave and just down the road is one of the top 5 trout fishing spots in the northeast, Coburn PA. A town over, at the only light around, is Millheim, PA where the few businesses are a cool art gallery, farm to table restaurant/ brew pub, IngleBean (.com) Coffee House (that I own), local winery, 2 wine stores and a local meat market! wow great place to be on a Saturday afternoon. Most weekends in the summer will have some kind of fair or festival going on so please check in with me with any questions.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We stayed in the old rock quarry, which was a perfect, natural shelter from the winter winds. Dennis was very kind and accommodating, and even helped us navigate to his property upon arrival. We highly recommend this campsite - more than enough wood for fire (Thanks Dennis!), surrounded by nature, a star-lit sky. We hope to return soon!
This location was awesome and surprisingly beautiful (driving through Pennsylvania and I never knew how beautiful central PA was). Dennis was an excellent host and very accommodating. I was able to fly fish Penns Creek in nearby Coburn both evening and morning. Definitely recommend camping here!
Dennis was an excellent host! His property is gorgeous and pretty accessible via car. He was always available to answer our questions, but also let us do our thing. Definitely would consider going back again!
This campsite was great! A nice open area right by a stream. We even got to go into the cave and see some calcite formations. Dennis was an awesome host and showed us a local place to tube down the river. I highly recommend this campsite and hope to camp there again in the future!
Dennis and his place are both amazing. There are multiple spots to camp and it was hard for me to decide on one! I am big into hiking and he recommended an awesome trail for me that was only about 10 minutes away. Unbeatable views of the starry sky! Also make sure to check out Inglebean coffee shop :)
What a beautiful stay! The campground is very private and has an amazing view of the field, mountains in the distance, and stars. Dennis was a very kind, helpful, and respectful host. It's very close to the Woodward Cave and other exciting places to explore.
Camped in the quarry and what a great spot! Dennis is friendly and welcoming and met me at the entrance to his property and gave me a quick look around and left me to it. If you’re looking for a different kind of camping experience, I would highly recommend the quarry. You’re surrounded on all sides by walls of rock and the stars above. 10/10
This site was fantastic! The rock quarry is beautiful, with an amazing sunrise to wake up to. Dennis was a great host, met us to help us get in and pick out a site. He also owns a totally amazing coffee house in town-check it out!
