This was a safe, nice, quiet place to spend the night on a road trip with plenty of space and privacy. Also saw two cute cats!
Mitch's place was a nice quiet spot for us on memorial day weekend. We used it as an overnight rest on a cross country trip from Chicago to New York as it's about ten minutes off route 80. The patch was big and there were some young cows and goats to see and a lovely puppy to meet. It was quiet all night. Thanks Mitch!
Mitch's place was a great stop! Very convenient and directions were perfect!! It was a quick stop for me to just sleep. I booked really late but Mitch was so ok with it! I car camp alone amd I felt very safe here!!! Thank you Mitch!!
We loved his camp. Was simple to find and simple to get in/out. We were in a 38ft mobile home + a car 😁 Mitch was nice and greeted us upon arrival even suggested a nice pizza spot. Will be back we were just there for 12 hrs!

Our stay surpassed our expectations. The location was easy to find. Mitch returned my phone call immediately to make sure we were in the correct spot. The spot was easy to level our [email protected] The spot was an open field next to goats in his backyard next to barn. Mitch offered us access to household electric and a water hook up right by camper. We had an adapter with us to use electric. We did not use water as we had filled our tank previously. We also had T mobile cell service. We woke up this morning to a beautiful sunrise with fog hanging over the surrounding meadow. There was one airplane that flew over early evening, a dog barking all night protecting the sheep, but didn’t bother our sleep. Mitch recommended we go see elk in Benezette. A nice drive about 40 minutes away. Unfortunately the elk didn't appear, but nice views along the way. Area felt remote, but lots of shopping nearby if needed. The morning was met with goats bleating, chickens clucking, bison nearby, cows mooing, all very pleasant. Our first time using hipcamp with great results, exceeding our expectations.
Things I forgot in the other review. Mitch was extremely responsive to our messages. As first time HipCampers we were very unsure what to expect and Mitch fielded our questions like a pro! We plan camping there again as Crystal City Camp is halfway between our home and our camping friend’s home. It was nice to have the privacy not often afforded by your typical RV park.

Thanks to flooding caused by Hurricane Ida, our original Labor Day weekend plans were postponed at the last minute. With campers already packed and ready to go, we thought there was no way we would be able to find a place to go. Enter HipCamp and Mitch C! Slightly off the beaten path but conveniently close enough to Interstate 80 and shopping centers, Mitch’s farm was just what we needed. The spots were grassy and level-ish (we did need to use leveling chocks but nothing out of ordinary) and nestled in between Mitch’s and the neighbor’s homesteads. Across the street we had a view of cornstalks growing right up to the sky (not kidding). At night, our views included the Big Dipper and the Milky Way. In the mornings, we enjoyed coffee to the sounds of goats and chickens in the distance and all of the activities of a working farm without any of the inconveniences of it. The afternoons were quiet enough for napping. The evenings for unwinding around a campfire. A little “honor” farm stand within walking distance offered seasonal goodies. Mitch was a very gracious host and helped us get in and stopped by as we were packing up to head out.

Since this was our first hip camp, we weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We had plenty of room, the host was very welcoming, and it was very quiet. We were close enough to town that we could go explore or get anything we needed, but when at the site, it felt like we were deep in the country. We plan on staying here again!
