Campsite1 is a tent site surrounded by woods near a lake for up to 6 people. Included is unlimited firewood with everything you need for a campfire. There are benches around the campfire and a picnic table to use.  Unlimited water is provided and a portapotty only your campsite uses. This campsite is ideal for people looking for a quiet camping trip.

Camp Blackbird is a secluded 28-acre property located along the border of Beltzville State Park in Lehighton, PA.  This tent site, Campsite1, is surrounded by trees with a partial view of the 949-acre lake.  Walk a short ways to swim or sit along the lake.  Miles of hiking trails for you to explore from your site.  You are not on top of other campsites and the state park does not allow overnight camping. You might hear people on the lake from your site during the day but overall, its a quiet spot.  There is a 2nd campsite about 250-ft away from your campsite.

In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and white water rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.

The property is not suitable for parties or events.  The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding.  The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.

From your car to the campsite is a 30 second walk.  It's the earth you are laying your tent on so its not perfectly flat or without stones.  We recommend bringing an air mattress, cot, foam pad or extra blankets to lay down on your tent floor.  Some past campers have slept in their car in the driveway. If you prefer sleeping in your car, Campsite2 has a better layout for that.

We welcome pets. Please add your photos! Especially of your dog camping!

You are welcome to rent Campsite1 and Campsite2 at the same time if you have a group up to 12 people counting all ages.

We, the hosts, live on the property about 900 ft from the campsite.  We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.

VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.

Loved camping with Camp Blackbird! Had a group of 5 and I was a first-time camper. We chose campsite 1 and it was a pretty nice site. As the description stated, the ground is not flat, and setting the tent needs to be in the right spot to ensure a comfortable experience. The map showing the trails as well as the entrance to the lake was great and helpful. A couple of us went swimming in the lake and it truly was a great experience. Also, there are great shops nearby to get supplies!

Another amazing stay at Camp Blackbird! This time we got to take advantage of taking a refreshing dip on a hot afternoon in the reservoir. I cannot recommend this HipCamp enough. We will be back soon. Thanks for your hospitality, as always.

I wouldn't say low rating. Just would depend onThe friend... you have to walk a short path to get to your car, the wood, the toilet. Which I believe wouldn't be an issue for most that camp. Just be prepared to carry a lot back and forth. That being said I was a solo camper. The land is beautiful! The owl that resides in the forest sung me to sleep every night! What more can you ask for!

Third time here, won’t be the last. Always super clean with plenty of firewood and a few other things you might forget. Very peaceful, barely saw another person all weekend. Nice hiking trails down by the lake too.

We had a great time at Camp Blackbird with our 6 yr old and 2 dogs! We ended up leaving a little early due to weather, but really enjoyed the time that we did spend there. The port-a-potty was literally the cleanest I'd ever been in and there was plenty of firewood for essentially an all-day fire (it was chilly). The site was large and clean with a sweet lil view of the lake. We ran into the folks from the other site only once (on a walk), and couldn't see or hear them at all. The site was a little sloped with a quite a few gnarly roots and finding the best spot to pitch our tent took a minute. We would definitely recommend this spot and will be back again in the fall.

Absolutely loved our stay!! What more could you ask for, such a peaceful spot amongst the pine trees, great view of the sunset and lake, lovely trail to walk the dogs along, potable water and firewood with map of the land included, and cute touches such as pointing out the bat habit and nice spots to swim/hang. So pretty for fall and no one else around so you can feel like youre away from everything. Will be back and 100% recommend, especially as the owners were so nice and even invited usbto stay longer since no one was checking in after us. Just a great experience.

Convenient but secluded camp site in the woods. We loved our stay at Camp Blackbird. Large site with a great fire pit and a beautiful view of the lake through the trees. We loved the convenience of being only 10 minutes from 476, and still feeling like the middle of nowhere on the site. Five minute walk to the state park hiking trails and 10 minutes to the lake. Water and wood were so nice to have at the site. And the port-o-potty was the cleanest I’ve ever used!
