Camp Blackbird is a secluded 28-acre property located along the border of Beltzville State Park in Lehighton, PA. The campsite is surrounded by trees and is a 3-minute walk from the 949-acre lake. Walk a short ways to swim or sit along the lake. Miles of hiking trails for you to explore from your site. You are not on top of other campsites and the state park does not allow overnight camping. There is one other campsite 250-feet away. We ask that you are respectful of your neighbors and keep loud night time noise to a minimum. We ask that your neighbors show you the same consideration, ensuring a serene experience for all. The campsites are ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. This is NOT the place for partying.
We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake. There are miles of hiking trails a few minute walk from your campsite. Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minute drive from Camp.
In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and white water rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.
The property is not suitable for parties or events. The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding. The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.
VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.
We welcome pets. Please add your photos! Especially of your dog camping!
There are two good spots for tents that are rather flat. If you are sleeping in a tent, we recommend bringing an air mattress, cot, foam pad or extra blankets to put down on your tent floor. There is no part of the property that is perfectly flat and without stones so bring something to sleep on top of. If you are sleeping in your car, we have extra wood at the site for you to drive onto if you pick a spot that is unlevel. We allow small pop up campers or camper vans. For an extra $20, we provide electric and water hookup. Please select in extras.
We, the hosts, live on the property about 700 ft from the campsite. We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.

This campsite was a great quick escape from the city! The site was clean and stocked with plenty of firewood and water. It's just a 5 minute walk to the lake and a nice swimming spot, and there are some nice trails to walk around on. We would definitely come back again.
A very private camp site, in green beautiful surroundings, just a few minutes walk to a private enterance to the lake. Was very helful that ample drinking water and firewood was provided along with a first aid kit, lighter and also a private portapotty. There is hiking trail right on the property too. We enjoyed our short stay!
A true gem!
Our second stay at Camp Blackbird was just as wonderful as the first. We stayed at campsite 2 this time around, which is smaller than site 1, but with plenty of room to navigate. The hosts are lovely and are attentive to both the campers and upkeep of the spaces. We stayed 4 nights and had ample firewood, drinking water (provided!) and spigot, and a super clean John - what more could you need :) The campsites are well spaced out, and with so many places to explore and hang out, you still have privacy and quiet time to enjoy the beautiful woods and lake.
Camp site 2 was nice and secluded. Burried in the woods and a very short hike to the lake. Many places to stop and enjoy the views and water.
Great plus having firewood included and easy to access. Portojohn was clean.
Thanks for the great trip!
My human and I really needed a break from the pandemic and city living. Camp Blackbird’s camp site is perfect—it’s tucked in the woods, very private and our hosts thought of everything. There’s a path to a great swimming area, and great places to hike. I highly recommend coming here for the break you definitely deserve.
Great weekend escape!
We had a great weekend! The campsite was clean and well taken care of & anytime we needed something our hosts were quick to respond! Also, the lake was beautiful this time of year. We would definitely recommend this site.
