If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had a wonderful stay at the Stream Side Peninsula Tent Site. Our site was private, yet close enough to the powder room. Steps from the stream was perfect, especially on the hot day! The fire ring and picnic table were perfect and we enjoyed our campfire. Saw horses, goats, sheep, and chickens! Will definitely be back again!
Stream side serenity
The Stream Side Site at Burnhead Grazings was beautifully picturesque. We loved it there beyond words. Hearing the stream while falling asleep brought absolute serenity.
Randy was genuine and kind, and his hospitality and friendliness was comforting and eased us into feeling immediately at home.
This was the getaway with my dear friends that we all needed so much, and I have so much gratitude and feel truly blessed we were able to spend our time together at this remarkable and stunning farm, with the added bonus of meeting and talking with Randy.
We look forward to an opportunity to return.
Thank you very much!!
Perfect relaxing place!
The stream side camp is a relaxing quiet spot. We stayed two nights. The first night there was a heavy rain, and when we woke the stream was flowing fiercely, which was neat to see and hear. We had put our tent uphill from the stream, which was good because the lower area by the stream flooded. No one was staying at the pond side camp and we were able to walk up there and enjoy the views and the swing.
Moire is a gracious and accommodating host. Would definitely stay here again.
Burnhead grazings is a gem
Burnhead Grazings offers one of the only campsites in the entire Indiana, PA, area. That said, even if there were more campsites available in Indiana, none of them could come close to the beauty, peace, and scenery of Burnhead Grazings.
We camped on their Peninsula campsite during a bikepacking trip on the Ghost Town and Hoodlebug Trails. We slept next to a small, babbling creek that ran through the property, which is also a sheep farm. Also, for only $20 we were provided with a huge pile of firewood for the big fire pit on the campsite.
Additionally, our hosts Moire and Randy are two of the kindest people you could ever meet. Moire was very accommodating when it came to our arrival time and communicated quickly via Hipcamp.
In short, Burnhead Grazings is an absolute gem of a destination. If you are looking for a night out under the stars, where you are lulled to sleep by the sounds of trickling water and bleating sheep, plan a trip to Burnhead Grazings.
Burnhead grazings is magical
A friend camped at Burnhead Grazings in August, and she recommended the place with much affection for both Moire and the beauty of the farm that I had to take my family there, yes, even during a very cold October weekend. The moment we took the turn onto the property I felt I was home! Back home in Wales where you could hear music and poetry. Then Moire greeted us with the warmth of a dear friend!
The serenity of the ground was healing. Our stream tent site was breath-taking, spacious and well-kept. The big fire-ring and a picnic table completed our needs. The site is a convenient walk away from where we parked our car, and provided a perfect view of the beautiful grounds. The heated half-bath with warm water and a sink for us to do our dishes in were a luxury.
Emmy, Moire's niece and Coco, the barn cat came to befriend us on our first evening, and our tweens bonded with them instantly. A much needed interaction for our kids during this pandemic and technology over-load from Cyber Learning.
After a symphony of rare bird songs welcomed us the next morning, more magic followed- Emmy and Moire gave us a tour of the grounds and meet-and-greet with the animals. Most unique of all was the hands-on lesson my tweens received from Emmy on the miniature horse, and the ride they had! We spent the rest of our second day roaming the grounds, watching the sheep grazing, and capturing pictures of the picturesque sceneries.
If the breath-taking grounds and the healthy, well-cared animals are not enough to bring you back to this hidden gem year after year, then Moire's story should!
Moire, Randy and Emmy, thank you for your generosity, warmth and welcome. You are the epitome of human kindness.
We couldn’t have enjoyed it more
Burnhead Grazings is a little slice of heaven. We stayed with family friends at the campsite & another group stayed at the Spring House. Our kids ranging in age from 4-11 were on the go mostly without much supervision the full time we stayed (which was two nights). Moire and Emme are kind, generous, thoughtful hosts who helped us sort anything we needed but gave us lots of space. The property is idyllic & impeccably maintained. The farm animals were an absolute delight: goats, miniature horses, donkeys, horses, cats, a dog— and of course it is a working sheep farm. The pond was a crowd pleaser- swimming & kayaking was enjoyed many times. The barn was a big, airy space to safely distance & enjoy some games while the rain came down. And camping with use of a pristine half bath in the main house was a big plus. The stream site itself as a camping destination is beautiful— it sits down a bit from the rest of the property so has a private feel but is very spacious to spread out tents. Hearing the stream flow as we went to sleep was very relaxing. There’s so much more to rave about... but the last bit I’ll mention is that the farm is only a couple miles from groceries, gas, and takeout. But we also were able to make full use of the fire pits with grills to cook one night. Thank you to Moire for sharing her family farm!
Relaxing and safe!
What a marvelous 3 nights I enjoyed at Burnhead Grazing! Moire greeted me warmly and showed me the Stream Side Peninsula campsite. Tall old trees lined the stream and there was a large fire ring, complete with a grill and flat tops that could swing over the fire. Moire also showed me the lovely guest bathroom; what a luxury when tent camping! I loved the barn and animal tour, especially the goats. I felt so safe and secure in this kind, peaceful place, created by kind, caring people. Burnhead Grazing Farm allowed me to decompress and rest. Just what I needed. Thank you, Burnhead Grazing. Can’t wait to come back!
We had a lovely stay at Moire’s campsite! She has a lovely farm and her niece gave us a tour of all their animals (the goats were so cuddly)! The campsite was close to Moire’s house. It was safe, quiet, well kept with gorgeous views of rolling hills, sunsets, fields of fireflies and a pond. There is a nice fire ring with grill, griddle and skewers. Firewood at the site. There’s a cute powder room & sink connected to the house that you have access to. Moire was sweet and accommodating and gave us her cell phone number if we needed anything. My pup had a great time camping for the first time, too!
