THIS IS NOT SAID ANYWHERE IN THE LISTING: These campsites are directly on the side of a road. Like 25 ft in from the street. There’s a small trim of bushes between you and cars driving by. Also, entry to the sites are blocked be 16”-24” boulders that keep you from being able to drive into your campsite. I own a 4x4 small pickup and COULD NOT get thru without damaging my vehicle. We did not even stay the night, we ended up driving the 3+ hrs home since there were no other options for us. I would not recommend this site to any hipcamppers.
Host did not make it clear the campground + bathroom was actually to be shared with one other camp site. Host did not respond to my messages or phone calls I made upon arriving. He didn't even have a voicemail set up. Beware you will not have a private bathroom and hardly any place to park.
The space is cool. The host is fantastic. We had a splendid time and will definitely come back. Tip: it is a rocky site so if you don’t have the wheels you will have to park at the entrance (10 second walk into the site). The surroundings are beautiful and the things to do close by will fill up your day. Can’t say enough good things!

Kinda spooky, kinda cool
The site itself was actually really cool. I could tell a lot of work was put into this passion project. The surrounding area is nice and quiet, very scenic place in the mountains. The outhouse is very small and very buggy but it’s more than you get with most camping experiences.
With that being said, I was not super safe or comfortable here. Thomas told me I’d be able to drive my PRIUS directly to the site… which, no, absolutely not. It’s literally up the side of a mountain. In fact, the entire campsite is slanted toward the road. I could see it being actually very dangerous in the rain, whether or not your car is on the hill. So I parked my car on the shoulder of the road, which I figured was far enough off the pavement that I’d be fine. Again, no, I wasn’t. I actually woke up at 3am to the police attempting to tow my car. Thankfully they didn’t (I would have been completely screwed as I’m from Michigan and couldn’t get any service whatsoever here). The officer was able to spot me while I inched my car just far up the mountain enough to be out of the road. Unfortunately, while I was backing out I did do some damage to the back end of my car. Thomas offered to have a local friend fix it but for obvious reasons that isn’t going to work out for me.
There’s actually another huge problem I have with this campsite, and that’s the disregard for the multiple trash cans on site, which are presumably provided for campers’ trash but clearly not regularly emptied. Kind of horrifying considering the abundance of bears and mountain lions in the area. In fact, while I slept a large animal knocked over a heavy trash can within a few feet of my tent, and I’m very lucky to have not been injured by this.
Finally, campers should probably be aware that this is currently a frequent stomping grounds for a mother bear and her cubs. Shout out to the local woman who saw me packing up and decided to warn me about this. I will consider this final bit just a neutral word of warning, as it is camping in Pennsylvania and we can expect wildlife; just thought it was a little alarming how concerned she was for my safety.
Honestly this could be a cool spot for a GROUP camping scenario where a CAPABLE VEHICLE is being driven (you will need a very very sturdy, lifted vehicle with 4 wheel drive to access this spot safely, don’t take the owner’s word for it.) otherwise, probably not a super safe spot to be.
Nice spot and easy to find. I liked that no other campers were there at the time . The town was super cool. Maybe bring some earplugs if youre a light sleeper. Few cars pass by
Buyer Beware. Thomas may be a good guy, but his camp is not. I paid for 3 nights but never used it because when I got there, I found that the parking was on a steep incline only 20 feet off the side of the road. Since I was Car camping, it was worthless. I did check out the rest of the site . The area he cleared for a tent was rocky, not level and 20 feet from and above the road level so traffic noise is high and privacy non existent. This is not case of miscommunication; I had emailed about the level issue several times and that I was car camping. With a roof top tent..but Thomas wrote it was very level. His reviews are misleading
I’ll start by saying Thomas is a very kind host.
This campsite is more of a campsite if you are on a road trip or a hunting trip or really are not looking to enjoy peace and quiet.
It’s right off of the road and idk if there was some sort of even happening but there were sooo many big trucks all day and night speeding down the road, so the privacy and peace was minimal. There are also houses a stones throw away so once again, you’re not out in the woods camping.
Like I said, not a good location for enjoying nature and getting away.
Great location if you need a cheap place to stay on a road trip or cheap accommodations if you’re going to spend all day doing things away from camp.
Has a bathroom and metal grates to go over the fire pit for cooking
