Very little boat traffic. Very private. In the fall big horn sheep frequently rut on the property. We usually have fresh eggs, milk and cheese on hand. Dry climate. Sage brush and juniper trees here. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good. This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

We had a great time on Danny’s property! We stayed in site #1. It was so relaxing being right on the river. The family is so nice and our daughter loved meeting Danny’s kids and is still talking about them.
Try the cheese! It’s delicious! Bring some crackers, we tried the dill flavored cheese over baked potatoes. So yummy!
We wanted to stay longer but we had things going on at home. We plan to be back as soon as our youngest (due June 2022) can make the long trip.

The views were none finer and the people are down to earth..i felt part of the family..Prarie the daughter brought us flowers in the morning what a sweetheart..ill always remember
This place is beautiful and quiet. Cell service was great for my hotspot so I was able to work with a great view. Hosts are wonderful and even help with questions I had about the surrounding area and trip to Montana afterward. The only down side is the 10+ mile washboard road to get in and out. It rattled my RV pretty good.
Danny and family are great. Beautiful views. Spaces are a bit tight but workable. The dirt road in is steep narrow and washboard. Figure 10 mph for 12 miles
I’m a lifetime traveler and live in my RV - seen a lot of places ........this one is by far the most incredible.
The road in is almost magical .......you really can’t believe something this beautiful exists.
The host is one of the rare ones. The ones that care and do their best to make you feel so safe and at home.
For a single momma with two teenagers ......Danny was a godsend. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had RV problems and had to go.
We will be back in fall to enjoy the eagles !
Thank you Danny for everything !!!
Long (30 min) unpaved road to get there, but our mini van towing our camper did fine and it's a beautiful drive. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and showed two different options for campsites, one with hook ups over looking the water (high on the hill), but my husband decided to go for the lower one on the water. It was a beautiful site, my kids had a great time playing in the water and looking for rocks with their kids. She have us eggs and ice which we very much appreciated. A beautiful, remote spot! Great fishing and kayaking.
