So convenient to OSU and tucked into the woods. We enjoyed the rural/forested setting and friendly welcome. It was fun to learn about the composting toilets and your vision for continuing to develop the property. Wish we had more time to explore by foot and bike! See you next time for a couple nights. Thanks!
Rivendell Retreat is an amazing escape into the woods. The hosts think of all the small touches inside the glamping tents and throughout the property. The hosts were responsive and so accommodating. This place would be perfect if you've never been camping before; you get to fall asleep to the sound of nature, but you also get amenities such as a shower, sink, toilet, and a comfortable bed. 10/10 recommend! :)
We had a really good time staying in this magical place and in the beautiful canvas tents, which were much bigger than I expected. Cool set up with the pathways, hanging lights, tiki torch, fire pit, extra towels, big fan in the tent drawing in air, etc. Was easy with the signs and directions on where to go as well. We went when the weather wasn't too hot, so might be better then.
First camp with baby!
My family camped in one of these tents for a quick weekend trip and it was great! The bed was set up with clean linens, there were fresh towels, cute chairs, and a fire pit.
We camped with our 18mo for the first time and it was comfortable and fun! I would totally go back and invite friends or family to book the other tents.
The only things to note are that it’s a short walk slightly uphill to the tents, but they kindly provide carts to move your stuff. Also, the toilet is a porta-potty by the parking area so it’s a bit of walk to the bathroom.
Lastly, the listing says there is water available, but it should note that the water is from a garden hose, which you have to turn on by the outdoor shower, so it’s not really for drinking or easy use, mainly for emergency use and putting out your fire at night. We used it to fill up a jug for cleaning up but found a store to buy gallons of water for drinking.
We did have the opportunity to meet our host, Brittany, and the owner, Tim. We learned they have big plans to improve the campground, too!
All in all, it was really great, the property is wooded and pretty, but there isn’t much to do on site. You need to walk or drive to hiking spots or into town. We thought the U-pick blueberry farm across the main road from their property was super cute, and it’s a very short drive or long walk to the entrance of Peavy Arboretum. It’s also quick 10-15 minute drive to both Corvallis and Albany for restaurants or other things to do.
We had a wonderful stay at Rivendell Retreat. Tim and Brittany were great host, were prompt with responses and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The property is BEAUTIFUL, the 3 sites are tucked into the trees, we stayed at Galadriel which was very private even though the other sites are nearby, they provide bedding and towels as well as bug spray which was much appreciated. We loved that we were only a few minutes away from hiking and about 12 min drive into the town of Corvallis which we enjoyed hanging out and having lunch. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return!
We loved the glamping site we stayed at at Tim’s getaway. We stayed in a canvas tent with the most adorable theme from the Lord of the Rings. It was secluded enough-only 2 neighbors possible in the woods. It was also close enough to Corvallis to do town activities if you wanted. The site was beautiful and the host and fellow workers were so sweet and so accommodating.
