great hipcamp experience. simple, efficient, respectful communication as we prepared for our arrival. contactless check in (much appreciated during covid!). working water and electric for tent sites. practically had the place to ourselves! a quiet, peaceful spot for a trip to malheur national wildlife refuge to watch the sunset and again to visit the overlooks the next morning on our way from our home in oregon to a nevada/utah roadschooling trip. would definitely return in the future and hope to stay longer to spend more time watching wildlife. highly recommended!

The owners were very friendly. This is a great pit stop or long stay because they have everything you need. Fuel, food, beer, water, bathrooms, showers and hookups. Only place to stop between Burns and Frenchglen. A good alternative as camping sites get packed during spring birding season.

Simple, easy going hosts. Only thing I would recommend is a change machine for quarters for the showers. Overall, great experience, and I had a blast birdwatching!

We stayed two night and camped in the designated grassy area. They were great. The weather was not great, so we wimped out on cooking in a gale. We ate at the little restaurant, food was good, staff was great, friendly and helpful.
