The cabin at Sweetgrass Homestead is beautiful, eco friendly and artistically designed space perfect for a romantic getaway or healing retreat.

We use only non-toxic and organic cleaning materials and natural fibers. Cotton, linen, flax etc for bedding and blankets.

*NO PETS INSIDE CABIN. Your dog is welcome to join you on the land but please keep them outside the cabin. So sorry but no exceptions on this one.

The land is a beautiful mix of old growth Oak, Madrone and Pine, with open meadows, fruit trees and an abundant and lush vegetable and medicinal herb garden.

The cabin is a stand alone structure with a separate parking and pathway entrance. Its relatively close to the main house but private feeling with fruit trees and rose & lilac bushes as space holder for its own lil yard- we are visioning adding more privacy and living fence coming soon. The outdoor shower and soaking tub is designed with a fusion of PNW & Japanese simplicity in mind. Its divine to take a soak when its raining and listen to the drops fall on the roof over head. The wrap around deck and front porch are supported with trees harvested and peeled on the property. There is a shared beautiful composting toilet near the temple, just a 10 sec walk away. This system used here breaks down waste that turns into fertile and rich compost in a couple years that is used for tree planting and other projects on the farm. This is a dry waste system, meaning we encourage minimal liquid in put, there are many private places in the forest and around the cabin to pee on the earth.

The land is home to me (Stella), Yara the wolfpup, Kava the maine coon cat, a gaggle of chickens, and most likely a work trader or two living here and learning about farming/homesteading. Sometimes its really quiet and you may not see any of us and sometimes we are bustling around working on projects or enjoying meals together in the backyard.

This is a healthy, holistic and very kid friendly environment.

There is a yurt temple space dedicated to meditation, healing arts and yoga. You are welcome to use the space during your stay. More details on the space will be provided with an info booklet upon check in. Please read thoroughly. If you would like to book a session with one of the many healing arts practitioners during your stay just let me know. There are an abundance of massage therapists, reiki, craniosacral, herbalist, and yoga/meditation instructors in the valley.

Dogs are welcome to join you on your stay, but I ask that your pup stay outside the cabin, they are welcome to sleep on the porch or in the yard. Please also keep your pup leashed at all times, as there are chickens that sometimes free range the property.  Please also pick up any waste you canine friend may leave behind :). I have a pup here on the property also, and if we are around she loves other dogs and would be happy to have some playdates :).

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Sweetgrass Cabin. We were looking for a place sorrounded by nature but with heated interior. This tiny cabin overdelivered our needs. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was adequate, decor was on point. Outdoor soaking bath/tub was the perfect touch, and yes, composting toilet had what was needed (lol!). The meditation yurt was AMAZING! I can go on and on.... this is a beautiful place!

This is a wonderful location. Stella is extremely friendly and kind, and the cabin is beautiful. The entire property feels like a retreat and is honestly worth more than what she charges for it! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway location.

We loved our time at the Sweetgrass Cabin. We wish that we had spent two nights instead of one so that we could have had more time for exploring and relaxing in this beautiful space. The (large) puppy on-site was occasionally a bit rambunctious (although Stella had offered to take her inside so this wasn't her fault) - but she was absolutely gentle and so cute with our kiddo! It was very sweet to watch them together.

Stella was a kind and caring host, and the cabin was perfect for the two of us and our baby.

Thank you!

Had a MAGICAL time! I joked on social media that I felt like an Oregonian Disney Princess at Sweetgrass Cabin. When I woke up, a little frog (probs Prince Charming) was sitting at the front door! Between that and sweet pup Yara, I almost expected bluebirds to do my hair and chipmunks to come hang out. Haha. This place has everything you need to relax, from the yoga yurt to the blissful outdoor tub to the most regal of composting toilets. The stars are so pretty here at night, and it’s only a short drive from state parks, hiking and great dining. Checked out some local wineries, chocolate and creameries while I stayed, and had everything I needed to cook a full meal at the cabin. The hosts are really nice folks. I also appreciated the books they had thoughtfully put in the cabin. It’s obvious they take pride in stewarding the land and honoring the history of the place while making guests feel welcome. Don’t wait — book it now! I was plenty cozy and think it would be a fine winter stay as well.

Stella was so gracious and welcoming! The cabin was well appointed, cozy and the design was gorgeous. She even gave me some fresh vegetables from her garden upon my departure. Her pup Yara was full of energy and fun to hang out with! I would absolutely stay again and recommend the outdoor tub for a relaxing soak!

We booked this last minute for just one night and the only regret is that we arrived late at night and didn't get to fully enjoy it's awesomess. The cabin was cozy, the outdoor tub was so relaxing, and the meditation yurt was an added bonus. Cannot wait to come back!

Sweetgrass cabin was a perfect stay for me and my dad for his birthday. There is a swing on the tree near the cabin that I could stay on for hours. Stella was a fantastic host. Beds were comfortable, the place was clean and lovely. Features a stove, oven, toaster, composting toilet, yurt for meditation or yoga, an outside bath with shower, and serene vibe. I would absolutely book again.

This was my very first HipCamp experience and I'm sure glad we were able to grab this sweet little cabin! We stayed here for two nights to just get out of town for a bit and relax - and if that's what you're looking for, this will be perfect for you. My favorite part was definitely the giant outdoor bath, complete with Epsom salt and bubbles provided! The cabin is located on a large property with a beautiful garden we were able to wander through and the stars at night were wonderful. The bed was comfy and nothing but the crickets at night to fall asleep to. The property location is great itself if you want to just cruise the countryside and find little roads to dart down on your way to Jacksonville and surrounding areas. Stella was very hospitable and communicative - and we loved making friends with her wolf pup! Given the chance, I would definitely stay here again.
