Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, a yurt, and one group camping site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

Sunset Bay Meadows Yurt
Couple things I’d recommend mentioning in the listing: no bed provided although sheets are in picture in the listing; 4WD not required, but was helpful to get to the yurt

Rad Spot!
The property is beautiful and so well maintained. The yurt was minimal but absolutely perfect for me and my family of four. The small heater provided was more than enough to keep us warm through the night on its lowest setting even through a late December rain storm! Tim is a very kind and gracious host that went above and beyond to provide a comfortable and safe experience. His dogs were friendly greeters that got along great with our two dogs as they romped around all over the property. Overall, we had a fantastic experience that I’d absolutely recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the area. Remember to bring your own bedding (blankets, pillows, etc. There is one bed), cooking stuff and to be aware that there might not be any cell service (we use Verizon).

Site 1 - Sunset Bay Meadows
Beautiful spot. Many to choose from. Secluded spot also, good directions from the host. Would definitely go back, each site is large. Would suggest after a rain to be careful where you choose as a large rig may sink a bit with the ground soft but had no issues

The space is wonderful, very big area to roam and wander. Next to a wonderful park on the beach. Host is very welcoming and warm. Stayed on a very cold day but there is a heater in the yurt (which is needed when it's cold). Very much recommend this place. Able to fit 5/6 people in the yurt (relatively comfortably. 2(max 3) people on the bed with 3-4 people on the floor is relatively okay. Def going to be coming back in the summer 5/5 stars. Very clean and great wooded and open area to walk around in. Very private as well.

I car camped and my friends tent camped on Tim’s land and it was great! Big beautiful, private field and the sauna/outdoor shower is a great touch. Tim was super helpful and attentive to us when we needed assistance. Thanks Tim!

Site 10 - Sunset Bay Meadows
Great spot and unbelievably green! It is very secluded at the end of the golf course. We had the place all to ourselves for the evening. No cell signal but we had starlink and were able to work our remote jobs until lunch time.
