Private and peaceful Oak Savanna, mixed woodland and meadow with a small pond and undulating hills. Please read in full before booking! At the Heart of Royal, Oregon (in Cottage Grove proper) we are at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties (please be aware of clearly marked private property/no trespassing signs at the end of the public road), while still being just under 6 miles outside of downtown Cottage Grove-the town of Covered-Bridges- with many options for shopping, dining, breweries and live music! Nearby access to wineries and two large lakes (Cottage Grove and Dorena) with swimming, boating, fishing, as well as hiking and biking trails. We are 35 minutes/27 miles from the heart of Eugene. All campsites are a short walk away from a small pond (no swimming) and epic sunset views! Oak savanna habitat restoration and sustainable thinning of mixed woodland in process on the land. **Poison oak is present! Please know how to identify, or ask and I will show you** I have done my best to clear it away from main camping areas and trails, but be cautious. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower if needed! **LEAVE NO TRACE//PACK IN, PACK OUT! Trash bags and bins are provided, but please take all of your trash with you, NO DUMPING! This includes compost, as to not attract animals and insects.** **All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is located by the Dome.** **COMPOSTING TOILETS- There is a composting toilet at each site; however, only the toilet near the dome and shower has a urine diverter. If one feels uncomfortable urinating outside, this toilet can be used. At the other two sites: PLEASE, poop only! Urinate outside and throw TP in trash or composting barrel (around back of toilet). Before use: Make sure bucket is lined with sawdust. After use: Cover waste with sawdust 3:1 and dump bucket in the composting barrel around back. Replace bucket and line with sawdust. Be Courteous! Thank you!** For humanure to break down properly, urine and feces must be kept separate. This is because the urea present in urine degrades into ammonia and kills the microbes that would otherwise break down the waste. Campfires are allowed within local regulation. **Absolutely no illegal activity of any kind or you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund. NO HARD DRUG USE!** The 'Platform' site has a large fire pit, composting toilet (for #2 only), potable water and electric via hose/extension cord, is a short distance from our outdoor shower, and is accessible with 4WD (not accessible with a camper/trailer). From this site one can see the top of the monolithic Dome-Home and RV pad. **If camping with a vehicle that cannot take the steep road to the site, one can park on our gravel driveway (or at the top of the hill) and walk down via steps or road.** The 'Tent/Trailer' site is our most secluded/private site and is available amongst our Madrone and Chinquapin tree zone. The road to this site is flat and accessible by car/camper/small trailer. There is a turn-around (somewhat tight), but trailers larger than 17ft may have difficulty using it. There are many level spaces to park or pitch a tent. Hipcampers have access to electric via extension cord, a small cooking-fire-pit and composting toilet (#2 only); however, potable water, and outdoor shower are all located by the Dome, which hipcampers will have to walk (short distance) or drive to. There is currently an old (being renovated) trailer on site (out of the way), which is off access to hipcampers.

Camp amongst the ferns and pines.
Beautiful secluded spot among the moss, ferns and pines. Easy to find. We arrived at sunset and parked our camper van in a flat spot. Plentiful wood and a charming fire pit with naturalized tables and benches. Enjoyed a magical morning walk through the diverse forest to a little pond. So very quiet. A privilege to sleep in this spot.

Camp in Cottage Grove's outskirts
We camped hoping to catch the eclipse October 2023. Instead we hung out under the oaks and douglas firs on the ridgeline campsite in the fog. We enjoyed the privacy and were intrigued by the frog pond trail. We got help from Carly to switch the extension cord breaker to on and she was very responsive. I enjoyed the eco-homestead vibe and the proximity to Cottage Grove, which was very friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay. We got to explore the beautiful property. We enjoyed a lot of time by the fire pit, the provided firewood was a nice bonus. Definitely would stay again. Thanks Carly!

Lovely established camp site!
This is such a lovely spot tucked away for the ideal OR camping trip. The directions were clear and made it easier to find the campsite. Me and my friends really enjoyed the fire pit and the platform is great for setting up your tent.

Amazing quiet spot in the woods
We loved the tent/trailer camp spot on Carly’s property. It was quiet and peaceful and we were able to disconnect and relax for a couple of days. There’s a nice hiking trail down to a pond with cute signage to lead the way. The composting toilet had a stack of dried firewood from the property beside it and also some cute tables and chairs by the fire ring made from local trees. All in all a wonderful place just outside of Cottage Grove. We will definitely be back next year!

Platform
Site was awesome. Very clean, very quiet. Tons of amenities! The hosts had a big pile of firewood ready for us. The fire pit was large and had several chairs and homemade tables surrounding it. Woodchips were laid out for clear paths, there were toiletries, a shoe brush, trash can, even horseshoes and stakes (for throwing) and tiki torches. The platform itself is big and sturdy, my friends and I pitched three tents on it with plenty of room to spare. There was even a hose with a spray gun and an extension cord running to the site. The whole area has so much love and care -- you'll see plenty of nice touches and home-made structures and furniture. And at such a low price! The platform isn't the most private site as there are two other locations sat on hills on either side, but that didn't bother us at all. We would definitely stay again, be sure to keep it clean!
