Beaver Pond was a lovely site, but there was a large group near enough by that it wasn't as private as I thought it was going to be. Not sure if we met the host exactly as it was a different person than the one who corresponded with me by text. The person who showed us to our site was not wearing a mask and in these Covid times I think that would have made me feel safer. The price was bit higher than I expected for having to bring our own water and only having a porta potty. I'm new to HipCamp (this was my first experience) so maybe this is typical. Other than noise from other campers and their dogs this was a beautiful, clean place to stay and I would recommend it. I think online it shows that there are 5 sites along Powder Creek and 1 site at Beaver Pond where we stayed. There was 1 more site on the creek and 2 more sites in the meadow that we didn't see listed online so don't know if they are new.
Very flexible and welcoming host. Wonderful creek and farm animals that kept the kids busy for hours. Fantastic deal on firewood and great to be able to have a campfire despite the burn ban. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
This was our third year at Powder Creek, second Labor Day weekend, and first time in the Beaver Pond site. As usual, Powder Creek were wonderful hosts, even on a holiday weekend the camp is peaceful and quiet.
Beaver Pond gets a lot of sun, so I would recommend bringing a shade structure, there are a couple shaded areas, but in the afternoons the site gets warm, we were really glad we had a pop up canopy.
We had the place to ourselves it was pouring rain and Brenda invited us inside her home to dry up. We camped by the pond and had a great time. Great deal on Wood , and no little logs either. Very accommodating! We wanted to book for the 4th of July when we left, but the site we stayed at was reserved. Nice people here and would come back anytime!
