Labor day weekend
I never met Brian but Ron is the owner of the property and lives on site and he gets five stars from us!!!! We ended up getting double booked with a couple other groups so I’d recommend confirming with Brian when you book to see how many people are there. The space is huge!!!! So even though we were booked with two other groups on site, there was MORE than enough space to accommodate. We never had any issues with noise with either group and it was really fun to meet the other folks camping there. The REAL CREDIT goes to Ron though. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. He was so nice and even took the time to move a huge personal fireplace/chimney to our little camping area so we didn’t have to use the communal fire pits. The swimming pond was a blast. We brought blow up floaties and lounged in the water. Ron’s dog Riley was also a special treat, such a sweet pie. We will absolutely be back! Thank you Ron for your outstanding hospitality.
Big sky country
Didn't actually meet the host, but the person who works at the shop...super nice guy. He was apologetic that there would be an additional camp - beyond the normal they do for the site. Come to find out we would have a group of 27 people in one area, and 2 couples on the other side of the hill from us. Picked up trash around the pond & immediate area. Fire pit was perfect, and the firewood for $10 was well worth it. Pond was nice, even though it was lower than normal. Was deep enough to jump into, tho we didn't partake due to the amount of kids using it. Might try this one again when it is not a holiday weekend as it is close to town & is a great base camp for discovering more of Oregon.
Loved ron and the property!
My girlfriend and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend. When we arrived, there two groups already occupying the property, one of which was a large group of about 20 people. It turns out Brian had triple-booked the space, and we had to share a fire pit with one of the other groups. It could have been awkward or uncomfortable, but Ron (the owner and care-taker of the property) saved the day and turned it into an amazing weekend. He found us a beautiful secluded spot under a tree on the top of the hill to camp, and even brought over a temporary fire pit for us to use. The other campers were very friendly, and the property was huge so we wound up having plenty of privacy. The pond was super fun to swim in, and the spot was only an hour away from Portland.
Overall, it was a great experience! Thanks again to Ron for all his help. I would definitely come back and bring a group!
Super spot! so much space!!!
We were a large group of 8 families and we had a complete blast! The site is quite sloped, so we couldn’t camp next to the fire pit which was hard work as we were cooking on the fire - but it didn’t spoil
It! Amazing spot. Super peaceful and easy to get too!!!
We’ll be back for sure!!!!!
My wife and I just needed to get away from the house for a couple of days. Brian's "Wildlife Getaway" was just the place. We parked our RV next to the pond and dropped-out. We were theonly campers on the property and the solitude was wonderful. We'll be back!
We stayed on the hill below the shop and above the pond. It is on a ridge where we could see for Milies in the directions. We enjoyed our stay and will stay here in the future if we are back in the area.
A little slice of heaven!
We throughly enjoyed our overnight stay! Brian was the perfect host and his sidekick, Riley, was a great playmate for our Pepper! Its so peaceful and it was great to get away from the hustle of everyday life and just soak it all in. The photos others have posted are absolutely what you'll find when you visit! Definitely plan on a return visit. Thank you! :)
One night stay for car show in area
We really enjoyed our one night stay next to the pond. Finding our way in from the road to the pond as a tiny bit tricky but we were the very first campers of 2019 so totally understandable. The bugs were really tolerable. Chocolate lab Riley was an unexpected treat since we put our lab down a few months back. She's a total sweetheart. Just before dusk I spotted a coyote across the field. We thought it was cool but keep an eye on small dogs and kids. We would come back for another visit if in the area. The scenery and solitude are hard to beat for the price!
