Loved our stay at owl creek cabin!
We absolutely loved our stay at Owl Creek Cabin! The cabin had excellent privacy, all of the amenities you could need, was very adorable, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. If you're looking for a cute cabin in the woods, book this listing!
Kit is a friendly, attentive host that puts a lot of effort into making this cabin a true retreat from the outside world.
There is no cell signal in the area, so satellite internet is provided at the cabin. It works well enough to video chat people and run typical browser-based apps.
It is in a beautiful forest with all of the modern amenities you'd expect.
Excellent location close to mountain lakes and PCP. Cabin is very private and very comfortable. It is set way back in the wood's with lots of wildlife. We wish we could have stayed longer. Kit is a great host. We will be back and recommend to friends and coworkers
Another great retreat!
Wow, this cabin has had a lot of upgrades since our last visit 2 years ago. The additional room, sofa, and larger deck make the cabin feel much roomier with plenty of space for gear. But the best addition is the outdoor clawfoot tub which was super relaxing for a nighttime soak. The cabin is quiet, and nicely outfitted — it’s obvious that Kit and Chris pay attention to adding features that their guests will enjoy. This was the perfect stop on our way from Ashland to Crater Lake and Bend. We enjoyed breakfast (suggested by Kit) at Lake of the Woods restaurant and a hike along the lakeshore. We’ll be back the next time we’re in Oregon.
This cabin is MAGICAL! Very clean, very private, and very romantic. My fiancée and I stayed here for our 3 year anniversary and we can’t wait to come back! The pictures on the post are beautiful, but there’s nothing like seeing it in person. So many special touches, from the flameless candles to the vase of red roses. The fan was powerful when it was hot out, and the heater work wonderful during the cold night. The soaking tub looked amazing, we just didn’t end up using it. The drive up was beautiful, and there is so much wildlife to see! Peaceful is an understatement. The host was very polite while wearing a mask and showing us around the cabin. We’ve been telling our friends all about our stay!!
We came for “fresh air” as the listing claimed yet were surprised to find the toilet emitted a strong foul odor through the cabin and even outside. Be aware that this particular composting toilet requires a bit of maintenance each day. There’s no kitchen sink so you’re left to use the bathroom sink for kitchen duties which is unsanitary and inconvenient. Upon our arrival, Kit informed us that the nearby Howard Prairie Lake was recently drained as if it was no big deal. One of the main reasons we chose the rental was to walk across the street to enjoy the lake. The place looked like it hadn’t been deep cleaned in a long time. Grime on most surfaces we wiped. The tub didn’t work for us as the drain plug repeatedly leaked. Furthermore, the much needed night-lights by the tub weren’t operable.
After our stay, we brought all of this to Kit’s attention, yet he denied all of it saying he delivers everything as promised. I hope other renters don’t run into the same situation in the future. We’re still trying to figure out why all the reviews are positive.
This is a little slice of heaven! Kit has created a masterpiece and we are incredibly blessed to have experienced it- the details from the writing desk to the amazing coffee (with cream!) and of course the outdoor tub were just magical.
Awesome cabin, awesome host!
Excellent stay with an excellent host. We enjoyed our stay relaxing in the woods! We wanted a place to stay near Crater Lake National Park. This cabin is an hour outside of the park but a great place to come back to in the afternoon. We had a great time checking out Ashland OR. It was a wonderful town. Kit was an amazing host and was extremely helpful!
