It shouldn’t be when the nearest source is the Clackamas, which boasts amazing whitewater rafting, endless opportunities to get your fishing game on, and wild wildlife watching--including the bald eagle! Sunset Strip Campground is a quaint getaway, with 8 tent-only, non-reservable sites at $20/night. Plus, sites come with a picnic table and campfire ring! Bring your own drinking water when you visit, and if you’re planning a trip outside of the open season (April-September), double-check the current conditions for off-season accessibility.

Sunstrip is a great small basic Campground. With only a handful of tent sites it is rarely crowded. Stuck between a spatering of other campgrounds tucked away on the Clackamas River this one stands out as it opens earlier in the season than the others in the area. Not far down the road from this campground are also dozens of dispersed campsites in the Mt Hood National Forrest if it happens to be booked. There is even some descent Shallow water swimming to be had in the hotter months.
