Crystal Creek Cabin is located under large Cedar trees on our 80 acre property adjoining the Mt. Hood National Forest. Sit on the covered porch no matter the weather and enjoy the sounds and scenes of nature! This is the ideal place to come, unwind and just be. Inside the cabin is a wood stove for keeping warm during the cold months. There are 2 twin beds as well as a sleeping loft that can accommodate 2 sleepers on a Queen mattress. This is an off grid cabin...however we have a Honda generator that can be used for lights and electrical plug-ins or go without electricity and use the lantern and candles provided. There is also a fire ring and sitting area outside for campfires as well as a large pick-nick table. The cabin is constructed from local trees we've harvested using a sawmill as well as Redwood and Douglas Fir salvaged from an old water tower deconstructed locally on the mountain. This is the perfect rustic, quiet and private retreat for all seasons.
*Keep in mind there is a short uphill 5-10 minute walk to the cabin from where you'll park (pack accordingly). Please arrive during daylight hours or plan accordingly (headlamps or flashlights) if possible as the path to the cabin is sparsely lit.
No plumbing inside the cabin. A water cooler is provided for drinking water. We also have a water spigot outside but water is not drinkable.
When you make your booking please contact me to let me know if you intend to bring your dog. :) We have 3 very friendly retrievers. Usually 1-2 may come and say hello.

We loved the Crystal Creek Cabin, it is truly a perfect, intimate slice of paradise. The cabin itself is cozy and beautifully maintained, with comfy beds and big windows. There was even a little coffee machine setup and a small generator provided. The cabin stayed cool inside when it started to get hotter in the early afternoon. It was such a treat just to relax on the hammock and listen to the sounds of the creek and the forest.
Rachel and her husband were such wonderful hosts. They radiated kindness that immediately made us feel at ease. Plus, they have three sweet, energetic dogs that wandered to the cabin a few times to play with us during our stay. Talk about an extra fun perk!
We look forward to staying here again.
Wow, is all I can say about this Hipcamp. Rachel is hands down the most thoughtful and kind host that I have met. Every detail was taken care of.
The beautiful Cabin that was built by Simon, Rachel’s husband and as soon as you stepped inside you could smell fresh cedar and flowers (which Rachel placed by the bedside) filled. The beds were extremely comfortable one is up in a lofted area and the other two are on the main floor. You can easily sleep four inside. There were little Pendleton Blankets to wrap yourself in the evenings. We slept with the windows open each night, and right outside the window was a little stream that was the perfect background noise. There is a stove to keep you warm in the colder months, and Rachel mentioned she wanted to add a hotpot for some meals. Rachel left us coffee to drink in the morning. There is a generator that you can use for light and electricity inside the cabin.
Outside of the cabin, there is a firepit with plenty of wood and two outdoor chairs already set up. There is also a hammock to read and relax at. On the porch, there is a little bench to sit by the river overlooking the rest of the camp. We picked blackberries on the property as we were walking towards the cabin and we went home and made a crisp with them.
Hands down one of our favorite parts of this campsite was the waterfall! We couldn’t believe it, it was only a 5-minute walk to view the waterfall and we climbed with the dogs all the way up to the base of the waterfall and enjoyed placing our feet in the base. It was refreshing and perfectly cold on a hot day, everything around us was so lush and green.
Rachel gave us recommendations to local swim spots and we definitely stopped in at Skyway Bar and Grill and had the Mac and Cheese which is our favorite.
Can’t say enough good things about this site, I would recommend to anyone. I can’t wait to see it in the different seasons.
Simon and Rachel’s cabin exceeded our expectations! They warmly greeted us when we arrived and drove us and our things down the short trail to the cabin in their ATV. It’s a quick walk, but we were grateful for the help. The cabin is privately set in a gorgeous part of their property with an area for fires and cooking, a hammock, and a beautiful stream, which was perfect for outdoor bathing. The cabin itself is immaculate and cozy. They had coffee for us for the morning and an extra thoughtful touch of a beautiful and fragrant floral arrangement. We came for a peaceful, off grid experience and got that and then some. We would absolutely recommend staying here and will be returning with friends and family! Thanks, Rachel and Simon!
Everything about this place was fantastic! When we arrived, Rachel was there to greet us along with her husband, kids and one of their super cute and funny, golden retrievers. Rachel offered to haul our stuff over to the cabin with their utility vehicle and we gladly accepted. It definitely made things easy. After a short jaunt through the woods we arrived at the our destination. My husband and I were in love at first sight. It was a perfect! The beautifully constructed cabin was pleasing to the eye inside and out. The grounds were lovely too! There were a few chairs, a giant hammock, fire pits, a picnic table and a lovely creek that filled the air with sound that only Mother Nature knows how to make. If you’re looking to escape from it all, or just want a place that will not disappoint, this is it. Thank you Rachel, Simon and family for making our stay extraordinary.
Crystal Creek Cabin is truly a gem. Tucked in the lush woods next to a charming stream, you really feel away from it all.
Simon and Rachel are wonderful and thoughtful hosts. After hitching a ride on Simon's ATV, we arrived at the cabin and there was already a fire going and candles lit.
The cabin beautifully build and immaculate. The site is very private and well though out with the fire pit under a beautiful old tree that shelters it from the rain. There are fun hikes on the property to see a waterfall and explore the forest.
We'll definitely be coming back.
This cabin is the perfect weekend escape! It is absolutely beautiful - impeccably clean, cozy, and stocked with everything you need for an evening away. The wood stove kept the cabin so warm, and the loft area is plenty big to comfortably sleep two (we are tall people and were totally comfortable). The fact that this cabin is pet friendly is fantastic, too! We brought our sweet rescue dog and she was able to run around and play with the 3 host dogs as we walked in. Rachel and her husband were so friendly, helpful, and welcoming! We instantly felt comfortable, and they lugged our bags out on their four wheeler so we didn't have to carry them! Extra bonus: the outhouse is, without a doubt, the cleanest we have ever seen. It's basically brand new, and all you smell is the wood it was constructed with. Seems like a small detail, but it was so appreciated! We will absolutely be visiting again, and will be sending friends to experience this gem as well.
An oregon gem!
My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time in Rachel and Simons cabin! The location and the cabin were both as beautiful and idyllic as the pictures suggest. We went there for 4 nights in January and had no problems staying warm. There was plenty of firewood for both the inside stove as well as the outside pits - simply amazing. The cabin was super clean, well stocked and maintained with very tasteful interior. Simple and beautiful. The location was very private, with the most wonderful creek and waterfall right behind the cabin. The owner’s 3 dogs came by a lot. They were very kid- friendly and fun to play with (our kids aged 5 and 8 loved them!). The hosts, Rachel and Simon are both very responsive, kind and helpful. I really can’t recommend this place enough!!
Stop looking at whatever else you’re looking at; this is where you want to be. This place is amazing. The cabin itself is a perfect mix of rustic and timeless like a small Timberline Lodge, or...I don’t know a cozy Nordic hunting cabin. The creek next to it is just as good...Throw those windows open at night! The small area around it is the perfect setup (a great fire pit and grill, table, and hammock). While you are on property, it feels secluded and very private. the grounds are awesome, with a small hike to a legit waterfall. Rachel is an awesome host, and communication was the easiest. The touches were plentiful and generous (tons of kindling, wood, candles, gas, and a generator). It felt like being back home in Alaska, and I literally could not have been happier with it.
Rachel was a very gracious and welcoming host! It was definitely nice having her haul our stuff to the cabin when we arrived and the property is absolutely beautiful. Right next to a waterfall and surrounded by gorgeous forest. The sound of the stream was so nice to hear from the cabin. The inside was absolutely immaculate and accommodations were awesome! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone wanting a nice little woodland getaway.
