Welcome to Molalla Ripple!
Enjoy the sound of the Molalla River rolling over the rocks. Wake up to birds chirping and tall trees swaying in the breeze. The campsites are sixty feet apart for privacy and one path leads to the river with two private beach areas to relax. The river flow does change after heavy rains so it may not be suitable to swim in the early spring but fishing is great! The river flows at its lowest level in July and August which helps our learning swimmers enjoy the water. Walk out to the swimming hole from the river path to cool down on a hot summer day.
We work with our local Oregon Department of Forestry to insure that we comply with all campfire regulations along the river. When needed they may or may not issue permits to allow burning. Please respect the neighbors to the north by staying on the same side of the sign reading "END OF HIP CAMP."
On our 25 acre farm known as JSM Ranch you'll see black angus beef cattle grazing on grass pastures along with free range goats, sheep, ducks and chickens. Our beef cattle are 100% grass fed with no hormones, antibiotics or grain finish added. We practice rotational grazing on our farm. Some times the cattle will not be in the fields next to the camp sites. But your welcome to walk our fields to find them. You're only minutes away from the town of Molalla to grab a bite, groceries or other camp items. You won't be disappointed for a great breakfast at Tammy D's (Mulino, OR), sandwiches at Humble Pig or pizza at Bear Creek Pizza & Pub. Please review the rules to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment as we have electric fences and moving water. Check out our Group site River Rock for bigger families. We change our rates with the seasons.
Thank you,
James Toops

There was some vehicle noise at night, and each Ripple campsite is only a stone's throw apart, but the river was really nice and sites 1-3 are pretty separated from each other. Site 1 is closest to the entrance and bathrooms, Site 3 is furthest at the end of the property.
The cows are pretty cool and some great dogs/chickens/ducks greet you when you arrive, but there isn't much in the way of hiking: we pretty much hung out at our picnic table and played cards during the day. The river flows pretty fast in spring but we saw an osprey fishing and plenty of songbirds in the trees. Straw laid on the site was appreciated since otherwise it would be pretty muddy. Overall it was the quick nature getaway we needed, and the host was pleasant even though we booked just hours before showing up!
Beautiful property with a beautiful campsite right on the Molalla river. Water available at the campsite, shower and bathrooms. Everything you need for a quiet night of camping. Highly recommend.
My wife and I really enjoyed our Easter weekend stay here with the pup and would love to come back here. Site 1 was great. Very large with lots of space to set up and about a 15 sec walk to the bathroom. Bathrooms were extremely clean, and the shower looked awesome as well. Walking down by the river is so peaceful and there are so many birds around, it really is beautiful. Sites are fairly spread out. We did wish there was a little more shrubbery blocking your view from the second campsite but we lucked out with it being vacant during our stay. We might try Site 3 on our next stay as it is on the end and probably the most private. James was also very friendly, and quick to drive down and bring us some firewood when our supply had run out. Beautiful camping site and very well maintained, we can't wait to come back!

The site is beautiful. There is nothing better than spending the day looking at the river. There were many thoughtful thoughts that went above and beyond our expectations.

The Ripple was a great little escape away from the city. There are only a few campsites along the river, so that can be a concern for campers with the proximity of neighbors. In this case, my specific site was not terribly close and other campers were quiet families and couples, so it delivered on my specific needs for downtime and reasonable privacy.
River access is just a walk away, so it's great for enjoying the water and sunset. I also booked the hot tub add-on, because it seemed like the perfect bonus for the shifty Springtime weather. We had some technical difficulties with it, but James was responsive, helpful, and tried to make things right.
Although it's a working farm with cute animals you can both see and hear, and is fairly close to a trafficked country road, it still manages to strike a balance between remote and recreational. It was also nice to see a camp with ample solar-lit pathways, well-kept bathrooms, and a shower (if you need one). Will surely be back for another go!

Wow, what a find!
Beautiful spot right on the river. It fit our F350 with 4whlcamper. Really nice host and a really well maintained and private campground with cows and pigs and charming sounds of birds. I really liked how far away the sites were from the house and also a good distance between sites. Bathroom were clean and it was really fun spot, highly recommend!
