Holistic Life Farm offers a quaint hideaway cabin nestled amongst the trees on your way to Astoria and the coast. Find us about 30 minutes off I-5 across the Longview bridge, 45 minutes east of Astoria and 4 miles off Highway 30 to the north.  We are a working homestead and delight in sharing our experience and offer visits with our sheep, goats, cows and chickens.

The cabin overlooks the beautiful coastal range and nearby forest off the deck. Open the front wall and enjoy the breeze from the west during your stay. Our refurbished compost outhouse is just a short walk across the pasture.

There is no electricity or running water so make sure to include lanterns and water along with your camp gear. There is water for rinsing dishes and washing hands. You will find a picnic table, 2 camp chairs, small (real small) folding camp table, and our free-standing propane fire pit, not recommended for cooking, create a relaxing experience.  Bring bedding, lots of blankets and/or sleeping bags to keep warm at night during the winter months. We like to call this “dry camp glamping”.

We offer a garden cart to transport your gear out to the cabin.  The cabin sits about 1/8th mile from your car/truck across our west pasture.

** Goat's milk cheese and farm fresh eggs for sale to campers. We are happy to provide price and availability if you are interested.

**Ask about WiFi access in case you want to work remotely during your stay. We can set you up in the barn with advance notice. We are happy to provide price per day to accommodate you while you are here.

We can direct you to hiking and mountain biking trails in the area (Beaver Falls trailhead is 5 miles from our farm). There is a motorboat and kayaking launch in the town of Clatskanie, Beaver Boat Ramp, with access to Columbia River. There is also a launch in the city park for kayaking. The Zen Monastery is just 5 miles away (closed to public during Covid-19). Long Beach, WA is across the Columbia River via the Astoria Bridge. Lounging about the homestead works too.

Let’s start with the good: the cabin was as described, it was small and cozy and relaxing. It was raining during my trip but the inside stayed dry, and the small heater was able to keep the inside relatively warm. Extra blankets were provided, as was the fly swatter and board games plus a small table and two chairs. I enjoyed the gas fire pit.

Unfortunately despite all these pros, I did not have a good visit. It started when I noticed on the first night an abundance of flies, more than you’d expect even from camping on a farm. I found a cluster fly nest. Honestly even after this I would have given them five stars. The issue was dealt with and they were kind enough to give me free goat cheese.
The next morning, however, I was on my way out with my on-leash dog when their 120lb+ dog sprinted from a far distance unprovoked, threw my dog to the ground and started attacking her. Between me and the host we were able to drag their dog off, but not before I received a large bruise and my dog sustained a neck injury. Luckily neither me or my dog received actual bite wounds but we were both battered and bruised and not keen on spending another night there.
I am extremely disappointed that it was at no point expressed to me that their dog might have this reaction to mine. If it had been, steps could have been taken to keep everyone safe.
I am happy that they tried to repair the situation by offering a refund for my last night. Tldr; if you have pets don’t go here

Wonderful overnight camping trip. Beautiful, quiet location on a farm with goats, cows, sheep, chickens, and a wonderful dog. Private area with own composting outhouse. Everyone is super friendly, accomodating and kind. We bought some lovely goat cheese and eggs from Farmer Betty to have for breakfast - made our morning so much better! Close drive to Astoria and smaller towns in between. We will return soon! Thank you!

Everything was absolutely perfect! The cabin, the goats, the hosts, the view. This place is definitely a hidden gem that my family throughly enjoyed. My 5 year old was in baby goat heaven.
It was peaceful and everyone working on the farm were super friendly.

My son and I stayed for two nights. The site had everything we expected. The host was friendly. We loved being a small part of the farm and interacting with the animals. We rode the ferry into WA, stumbled across a weekend festival, farmers market, and had an overall great adventure!

Wow what an INCREDIBLE experience on the HolisticLifeFarm! Our stay at the Little Cabin Hideaway was the perfect little break from life; we woke up early and immediately opened up the siding to let the breeze in and it was the most relaxed I have felt in some time. The beds are comfortable and there are cute rustic touches everywhere you look! Farmer Becky is amazing and allowed us to have a little meet and greet with the goats which was a special treat! If it's available, plan on buying the goats cheese and milk as it is DELICIOUS!

Becky and Royce were such sweet hosts. They showed us around the farm and helped us get settled. We bought some nice goat cheese and fresh eggs for our morning breakfast. The A-frame cabin is so nice to sleep in with the wall open air all night long for a pleasant nights rest. Awoke early morning to all the birds in the field.
Would definitely stay again.
