Holistic Life Farm offers a cozy wall tent site nestled amongst the trees in the pasture. The 10x12 wall tent has a wood stove for heat. Stay warm, cozy and out of the weather during Oregon rainy days, even during winter. Stop on your way to Astoria or the coast and make this your destination. Find us about 30 minutes off I-5 across the Longview Bridge. We are 45 minutes east of Astoria and 5 miles off Highway 30 to the north. We are a working homestead and delight in sharing our daily experience and offer visits with our sheep, goats, cows and chickens.
The tent site is down the hill about 1/4 mile from your car with garden cart provided to carry your gear through the back pasture. You might find the cows munching away in the next pasture over. Our layer hens reside in the mobile chicken coop out in the pasture. You might hear them clucking proudly after laying an egg too. Our refurbished compost outhouse is just a short walk from the tent site.
There is no electricity or running water at the tent site so make sure to include lanterns and water along with your camp gear and bedding. Bring extra blankets for warmth if the fire goes out during the night. The full size wood stove heats the tent very well. Being familiar with building and keeping a wood stove fire going will be beneficial for a great stay. Campers are responsible for building the fire in the stove. We provide up to 4 cots for a cozy night sleep. There is an area rug on the canvas tent floor if you decide to bring your own sleeping mats or air mattress. A dresser and small table are included for your convenience. We do provide one rack of wood for the stove. Additional racks of wood may be purchased.
**Goat's milk, goat's milk cheese (when available) and farm fresh eggs for sale to campers. We are happy to provide price and availability if you are interested.
**Ask about WiFi access in case you need to work remotely during your stay. We can set you up in the barn with advance notice. We are happy to provide price per day to accommodate you while you are here.

My stay at Holistic Life Farms was one for the books. I was looking for a holistic conscious environment immersed in nature, creating my own silent-ish private retreat. My intentions were fulfilled, and exceeded. I spent two weeks tucked amongst a private cluster of Alder trees - whom I felt quite connected to after having spent that time sharing space and clean air. I spent most of my time hiking the nearby trails and spending quiet time in reflection in my tent, tending to the wood stove that kept me warm and cozy despite the cool temps. It was the perfect balance of private yet connected and well looked after, as Farmer Becky and Paul were readily available via text and in person for any of ny questions and requests. They are both incredibly kind and knowledgeable of regenerative farming practices and I was grateful to have learned more about these techniques during my stay. I loved the fresh goat milk I purchased daily to sustain me during my respit, and I brought goat cheese from the farm home and my sister, a gourmet chef, thought it was very fresh and yummy. I finished my two week stay with one word that sums up my stay: Well-being. The land is well, the people on the farm are well, and I felt well throughout which is now carrying through to my next destinations. I am grateful and am very much looking forward to my return for another stay.
Sweet and private
We had an incredibly sweet time, the fireplace kept it really warm. The tent is simple but has a dresser and small table and teapot. When we arrived it had been raining so the floor was wet but it wasn’t a problem with the way they have it set up and they restocked our towels whenever we needed it. The tent is nestled in the corner of their beautiful farm so we got the privacy we wanted. Their goats milk etc is wonderful and farmer Becky was a wonderful host. We are planning on coming back this winter if it’s open!
If you’re there when it’s cold it’s totally doable but you have to be okay with getting up at night when you’re cold to restoke the fire!
Close to home, comfortable getaway!
Our hosts greeted us and carted our things down to the tent. They were super welcoming and friendly. The tent, view, whole area was relaxing and beautiful. Just what we needed! We expected rain, but not the 10 hour wind storm. The tent was fantastic. Never felt unsafe or had a drop of water come in!
Warm winter night with the minis
I opted for a last minute New Years Eve camp out for myself and my young girls. Chose this for proximity to my hometown and also heat.
The experience was amazing. There’s an A frame and wall tent ... we stayed in a wall tent with full size wood stove for heat. Girls and I stayed warm all night. The hosts let us spend time with their baby goats and made a special New Year’s Eve event for my kiddos and that was icing on the cake for them especially right now during pandemic life ... safe activities are so few and far between.
Wood stove was great. Compost toilets in outhouse were very clean. Tent was huge. They provided firewood and chairs ... and an air mattress. There was a table inside and a larger picnic table outside. No water or electric in this tent but they did have a kettle in the tent (for use w wood stove)
I purchased a few things on the way home after the girls got to see if the chicken laid any eggs :)
I got some eggs cheese kombucha and honey and a bit of ground beef
We really enjoyed the warmth of the hosts they’re incredibly genuine the girls and I plan to go back either in snow or in the summer
Great experience and cute farm
Absolutely amazing place!! We booked it on a whim along our route up north for our anniversary. Well worth it! The host Farmer Becky and her son were so kind to us and so very welcoming!! They gave us a tour of the property and even allowed us see newborn lambs. We also got to see the other host bottle feed a lamb and she was super friendly and welcomed us to explore. The tent was clean and all set up for our stay with plenty of wood for the stove to keep us warm. We explored the property for some time and played with the baby lambs! Farmer Becky continually checked with us to make sure we were doing well and enjoying our visit. The next morning they did not rush us out and even let out the goats for us to see and play with. I would recommend this stop to anyone who likes the outdoors and animals. We hope to be able to stop again on our way home. Thanks again Farmer Becky!
A dreamy spot.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Wall Tent in the Woods. Becky (camp host) was very helpful and kind and also gave me plenty of quiet space.
There was a picnic table out front of the tent which was a perfect spot for a camp kitchen and had room around it where I could've erected a pop uo shelter if the weather hadn't been so sunny and agreeable. My first morning I woke up to an adorable (and complimentary) little basket w a couple fresh chicken eggs, some rosemary, a touch of veg from the winter garden and a little jar of goat milk.
The tent is on a bit of a slope but they've done a fine job leveling the furniture and woodstove.
Oh yeah! Becky and her helper, Royce, recommended a hike on a nearby logging road which was dreamy. It appears to have been some years since any trucks have been up there and I walked for hours in solitude with my pup in quiet, mossy forest. I drove my truck to the entry gate but honestly could've walked up the road from the farm/my camp. It was the highlight of my stay.
This was my first HipCamp stay and I'm glad I started here. Thanks Becky and Royce!
The perfect getaway spot.
My stay here was magical! Farmer Becky was a friendly and welcoming host. The farm animals were a delight. The nearby falls majestic. The wall tent truly cozy. I have already recommended this place to several friends and will for sure ve back for blueberry and blackberry season! Who knows, i may just stop by for some fresh raw goats milk or some farm freah eggs on my to the coast. Well worth the detour!
