Great locale and super nice people
The farm was the perfect site for our first camping trip with our four-year-old. He loved the animals and the people were super nice. It was also a great location to do a little exploring in Salem and Silver Falls State Park.
A peaceful campground!
I went to this beautiful Farm and just loved it here so much!
I went with my friends and their dogs, six people and five dogs. This place was quiet and peaceful and was great for beginner campers since it's not wild, and the dish washing station was well equipped. We enjoyed our two nights there, and the hosts were amiable.
There's an unleashed farm dog, which was very mellow and calm, and I might visit you often. I loved his little visit, but since he's a big dog, your dogs might get scared and will keep barking at him, just our dogs did :(
Be mindful if your dogs are guard dogs and not friendly with the other dogs.
Magical farm fresh weekend…
I cannot recommend this stay enough. We escaped the smoke of Southern OR, and had a wonderful weekend on the farm. We had the creek side spot, with a fire ring and a table making accommodations very comfortable.
The view from our spot gave us a vista, nearly out to the ocean. We could see the marine layer in the morning and sunsets were spectacular!
Strolling the farm and visiting with the very social free range turkey, the sheep and chickens was fun and added to the weekend. So much history. Signposts everywhere and tags on trees told the story of them and now. The outdoor galley kitchen made meal cleanup a snap.
All the staff we spoke with were helpful and willing to share the stories of this historic farm. So lucky to have found it and had the opportunity to stay. We came home with a dozen fresh eggs and a bag of straight from the tree, apples.
We had such a fantastic time camping at GeerCrest Farm! Our campsite was plenty big and fit both of our group’s tents just fine with lots of room to spare. The site was private and comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for, as well as a well built fire pit. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and we had a lot of fun exploring the beautiful grounds of the farm. A perfect spot for a romantic getaway, or fun times with friends around the fire. Thanks again for having us, we’ll be back soon!
Well there are many great things about this little farm and a few that aren’t so great.
It was very peaceful and quiet. Our kids loved hanging out with the sheep, goats and chickens. We also loved the rope swing and the treehouse. The composting bathroom was very clean. Our hostess was lovely.
The biggest disappointment was the copious piles of dog poop that line both sides of the road. It’s gross and stinky.
Also, it wasn’t clear to us that there were two campsites. One is the treehouse and the other is the Creekside Bliss where we stayed. Actually, there seems to be a third campsite which was just people parking on the grass. It was a large group and we were concerned but luckily they were very quiet people. The creek is a tiny trickle and you wouldn’t know it was there unless you were looking for it. I realize there is a drought but we were expecting a creek since the campsite was called Creekside Bliss.
