Happy Bears Camp would really be suitable for those passing on I-5, who want a quiet place to park for the night. We are only one mile from I-5 (mile marker 80). Heading North on exit 80, there's a sharp 25 mph off-ramp on a downhill -Take it slow!

There are lots of reservoirs, and a few rivers in the general area. The closest Reservoir is 12 miles away. Crater Lake is two hours away. The Pacific Ocean is 2 hours 15 minutes away. Closest river is less than a mile. You will cross it on the way here. There is lots of BLM land with dirt road access in the area. There is hunting in the area. The tiny town of Glendale is three miles away, (one route is safe for bicycles). There is a Grocery store, bank, laundry, three restaurants, two gas stations and a bakery. There are also two parks in town. One has a Frisbee golf course. Easy RV parking in town. On the way here, you will pass one of the restaurants and gas stations with a lot big enough to accommodate the largest RV. On Happy Bears Camp property: If you park parallel to the paved road/fence line, your view would be our meadow rising to a mountain covered in trees. We own the meadow and lower half of the mountain. You could walk around, but there aren't any trails and the undergrowth gets thick quickly under the trees. There is a fire break to walk, that circles the meadow. This will give you access to the trees. If you walk up the right side, our neighbor's dog will make a ruckus as you pass their house. Don't worry, just noise. At the top of the meadow, is a nice view back over this part of the valley.

Good 1 night but seasonal toilet
The spot was great for a quick one night stop but unfortunately the toilet was seasonal and we weren’t told this until we had already stayed and left the next morning.
Simple site, as described, perfect for a quick stop to pitch a tent and catch some sleep while on the road, right off I5. The hosts are super sweet! Thank you!
Location was great. Close enough to the highway to not add extra time while we needed to sleep overnight and also very little traffic/no noise at the site. Would highly recommend as a stop. We didn’t have time to explore but wish we did. Views of the mountains were amazing.
My first HipCsmp stop. If this is any indication of my future stops, I eagerly await them. Great overnight for us. Wide open space for our 30’ trailer. Beautiful surroundings, dark and quiet night made for a great rest on our road trip north from Southern California. And the big beautiful Pyranees were a definite plus for me. I miss my Pyrs.
The space was just what we needed for a stop over on our road trip! Not far off the highway but on a way less busy road with a beautiful view. The hosts were very kind, generous, and communicative.
Korina and David were great hosts! Loved picking raspberries and strawberries in the backyard. This is an ideal place to crash if doing a long I5 road trip and you need a place to get some rest.
Just like it says in the description, it’s the perfect place to spend the night, when you’re traveling up and down Highway 5!
I arrived after dark and that was no problem because Apple Maps took me right to the driveway.
They were very friendly and hospitable.
And also gave me privacy, which I appreciate.
They are working on the barking of their dogs. They were aware that that was not conducive for guests.
It was very quiet, and dark, my preferred camping.
I have a self-contained Mercedes Sprinter, which worked well.
and I expect to return!
