Elk Moon feels amazingly secluded and disconnected from the busyness of city life... it feels like it's MUCH further out in nature, away from any city, than it actually is, but with the convenience of not actually being that far out.

The yurt is fantastic, well set up with everything you need. It's secluded enough that you essentially feel like you're all alone. In fact, if you don't need anything you won't even need to interact with the owners. The view is amazing, and walking around the gravel roads in the area is absolutely beautiful.

I was looking to get away from people, technology, and the busyness and distraction of daily life, and Elk Moon was exactly what I hoped it would be. No internet access (though I still had great cell reception, in case you need to be reachable), no hum and glow of city noises and lights. (Also no fridge; plan accordingly!)

Actually, it's a pretty great mix of camping and glamping... the rusticity of camping, but with a comfortable bed and a wood stove, for those of us whose bodies can't handle sleeping on the ground anymore.

The air is clean and fresh and cool, and every breath feels healing. It was exactly the rest and restoration I needed. Thank you!

Absolutely gorgeous scenery! The yurt was very comfortable and the hosts were great at communicating. Washing dishes was quite the adventure but we were able to muddle through. Amazing stay, will be back!

My Girlfriend fell in love with this place 😊 it was a perfect gift! Despite the bad directions that Google map gave us.

Thank you so much for coming! Good to know about google maps-we'll add that to our welcome instructions! When you come back (and for others reading) Apple maps has always been reliable. :) Thanks again for being great guests, we hope to see you again!

This was such an amazing place and a perfect place for a girls weekend getaway! The yurt was clean, spacious, stylishly decorated. The bed was comfortable and we were plenty warm with all the blankets our host Janna provided. I would definitely recommend this place to guests. With the beautiful scenery and rainy weather it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the weekend. Can’t rave about this place enough. My first yurt trip and it did not disappoint!

We were here for a cozy weekend away. It was a foggy night and we enjoyed the warm fire, bright moon, and a big dinner cooked in the well stocked kitchen. The morning was beautiful and warm. We ate breakfast out on the front porch. The space was clean and comfortable. We recommend bringing extra lanterns for light at night, fire starters and/ or a hatchet for kindling, and slippers.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful space. We will certainly recommend it to our friends!

I first want to say that Alvin was very responsive and the scenery around the yurt is beautiful. Unfortunately, the yurt upkeep is not up to par, especially during what should be a heightened state due to Covid-19. Overall the yurt was not very clean other than having what appeared to be new sheets. The floor/rugs were dirty and the kitchen water waste bucket was full and had old food particles in it. The outhouse is no longer a few steps away and they now provide a port-o-potty down the road. I was hoping this place would be a nice and easy escape we could go to a few times during the winter, but we definitely will not consider going back.

I'm so sorry this happened Tracie! As of 2021, Elkmoon is back to being managed by onsite caretaker-owners and we take a lot of pride in welcoming guests to our beloved slice of Oregon in the way guests should always be welcomed - to a space that's lovingly prepared, and gives you an immediate sense of your home away from home. We'd love to host you again and make it up to you one day soon!

Incredible view. Beautiful yurt and friendly host! If going in cold temperatures I’d recommend bringing a hatchet to cut wood, lots of fire starter, and a few big lanterns. Wonderful owls and coyotes, but also dogs in the canyon barking through the night and early morning. Might consider bringing ear plugs if you’re looking for some uninterrupted rest. A very special place, just wish I had brought a few more things to make my stay more comfortable.
