Very little boat traffic. Very private. In the fall big horn sheep frequently rut on the property. We usually have fresh eggs, milk and cheese on hand. Dry climate. Sage brush and juniper trees here. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good. This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

This place is incredible
I’m a lifetime traveler and live in my RV - seen a lot of places ........this one is by far the most incredible.
The road in is almost magical .......you really can’t believe something this beautiful exists.
The host is one of the rare ones. The ones that care and do their best to make you feel so safe and at home.
For a single momma with two teenagers ......Danny was a godsend. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had RV problems and had to go.
We will be back in fall to enjoy the eagles !
Thank you Danny for everything !!!
Beautiful remote camping spot!
Long (30 min) unpaved road to get there, but our mini van towing our camper did fine and it's a beautiful drive. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and showed two different options for campsites, one with hook ups over looking the water (high on the hill), but my husband decided to go for the lower one on the water. It was a beautiful site, my kids had a great time playing in the water and looking for rocks with their kids. She have us eggs and ice which we very much appreciated. A beautiful, remote spot! Great fishing and kayaking.
Beautiful spot. Very private. Gorgeous river front area. Host seemed friendly, just a brief greeting upon arrival and showed us to our site. Long dirt road in, a bit out of the way but very worth it.
Relaxing camping and very private
Awesome camping. Our puppy had the best time on our trip! Quiet peaceful camping. The cheese was awesome, be sure to opt for this!
We are already planning our next trip😎
Beautiful camp site on the water
Great flat spot to set up a tent and let the dogs swim in the river that’s half Idaho and half Oregon. Beautiful drive in through the mountains, saw cows and horses throughout the area. 4 wheel drive might be a good idea but isn’t 100% necessary.
A beautifully relaxing memorial w
Gorgeous views right on Brownlee Reservoir. Great catfishing, quiet area.
On property padsite had electric and water hookups. Lots of terrain to explore. Ponds nearby from a short hike were worth the effort. Found some fun artifacts and animal prints. Fishing was outstanding. You could catch catfish for days! Bass were also relatively easy to snag.
Did I mention the views? They go for miles and miles. Wonderful array of bird watching to be had (everything from house finches and magpies to Osprey and Hawks).
Fun to watch the cows come home each night and also got to watch them be milked in the morning. Owners even brought us homemade soft cheese (delicious!). They're very hospitable and friendly. Easy to deal with!
One little hiccup with the water on our last afternoon that took awhile to resolve because of delay in response from owner. Once they responded, water issue was resolved VERY quickly.
Watch out for cheetgrass, cockleburrs, ticks and poison ivy. Hopefully, they'll continue to improve the pad site; smooth it out, grade it some more and remove a lot of the little hazards for dogs and small kids 😀
All in all for their first weekend hosting, it was a great experience and we would gladly come back!
