Private campsite minutes from Hood River bike trails, wineries, the Fruit Loop and more.

This camper van or RV friendly site is located on the road* leading up to Family Man Staging Area, just minutes from Post Canyon's bike trails. Being located just a few minutes outside of Hood River, you can enjoy the peace and calm of retreating into nature, while still being a few minutes drive or bike ride from your favorite Gorge spots.

-----------------------------------------------------

About the site:

---The parking pad is a level, grassy/gravelly area. The parking pad is roughly 70 feet by 35 feet.*** See photos for a map of measurements or send us a message for more details. Base price is for one camping vehicle with six campers, but up to 3 camping vehicles can comfortably share the space (depending on size). The site is private, and you will not have to share it with another group, but feel free to invite your friends.  If you are booking for more than one vehicle, please select the “extra vehicle” option to pay the $20 fee for each additional camping vehicle per night. Additional guests will be allowed with additional vehicles if an average of 4-6 guests per vehicle is not exceeded, so the max for the whole site is 12 guests. Please ask about specifics for your group's setup and numbers if you're not sure.

*The campsite is just off a road so be aware there will be road noise, although its much less in the mornings, evenings, and on weekdays.

---Electrical hookup is available. Please bring a standard outlet outdoor extension cord.

---There is no potable water or bathrooms on site. Your vehicle must be self contained with a toilet.

---The campsite is just off the road leading to a local biking area, and across the street from our home, but other than that you won't have any neighbors. During biking season (April-October) you can expect cars to be passing by frequently during "Post Canyon rush hour" on the weekends, but everything is pretty quiet out here in the country after about 7 pm and until 7 or 8 in the morning. The bubbling sounds of Phelps Creek, just across the road and the year-round stream that runs through the campsite, help muffle the road noise a little too.

---Down below the parking area, enjoy use of the fire pit (gas fires only during summer months), a picnic table, and hammocks.

---The fire-pit is available year-round, but after the annual county burn ban begins (usually at the end of May) please consider renting our gas fire to place into the fire-pit or bring your own as wood burning fires will not be permitted.

---Dogs are welcome, but the upper area of the campsite (facing the road) is not completely fenced in. We have a one-year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Rio, who will stay in our yard, but if seeing him with us in our yard across the street is a concern for your own dogs, please let us know.

---We're out in the wild (a little bit) so you can expect a few of the typical woodland critters to be about, mostly birds and deer, so please keep food stored securely in a vehicle or hard-sided container while you're away/asleep. Please don't leave small dogs/pets outside alone in the mornings and evenings as a family of coyotes live nearby.

----------------------------------------------------

About the area: We're just a few minutes from downtown Hood River, bike trails and more. Here are the approximate distances to a few nearby favorites:

Biking:

---**Family Man Staging Area 2 miles

---Post Canyon Staging Area 2 miles

---Binn's Hill Staging Area 3 miles

Fruit Loop & Tourist Sites

---Apple Valley Country Store 4.2 miles

---WAAM 3.9 miles

Wineries to bike/walk to:

---Cathedral Ridge 1.7 miles

---Marchesi 1.7 miles (this one's our favorite!)

---Phelps Creek Tasting Room 2 miles

---Hood Crest 3.2 miles

Distances to downtown and other nearby cities

---Downtown Hood River about 4.5 miles

---Hood River Heights 3.6 miles (the locals neighborhood where you'll find the best bottle shop in town-Volcanic!)

Other nearby favorites you might visit:

---White Salmon and Odell are 15 minutes away

---Parkdale is about a 20-25 minute drive with lots of great farmstands, wineries, and gorgeous Hood River Valley views along the way.

---Going a little further, Cascade Locks and The Dalles are less than a half hour away and you can be at Mt. Hood in just 45 minutes from your campsite.

----------------------------------------------------------

Good things to know:

**Family Man Staging area is just a few minutes away by car, but it is a steep road climb up if you're planning to bike there. E-bikes, go for it, it'll be a breeze, but otherwise, we recommend biking to the bottom of Post Canyon and using the climbing trail from Seven Streams unless you're really up for a grind. Shuttling is always a convenient option too.

***TRAILERS PLEASE READ: Although our site will accommodate trailers and towing vehicles, the sharp angle of the parking area off the road can make parking extremely challenging. If the total length of your vehicle and trailer is longer than 25 feet, we DO NOT recommend you book the site, unless you're very comfortable backing your vehicle uphill on a corner, or if you're willing to drive a few minutes up the road and turn around at a wide corner in the road. If your trailer and vehicle together will be longer than 25 feet and you would like to book the site, please send us a message immediately after booking to let us know you understand the parking situation.

Kiraney's property was gorgeous and well-maintained and located on a safe and quiet country lane. We enjoyed lounging in the provided hammock and hammock chair and the camp table and fire ring were really nice additions. The location is ideally located centrally between top notch vineyards, U-pick orchards, downtown, and the best mountain biking trails. We also enjoyed the cooling afternoon shade of the mature tree that branches out over the RV spot. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Hood River!

Very very peaceful

Like Kiraney is clearly mentioning,, road close by, but no one on the l at night, and early morning..
Nobsound except from the nature around.

A bit of traffic going to bike trails near by on golden hours, but nothing disturbing.

Very well located.
Will come back!!

Kiraney’s place is incredible!!! My girlfriend and I made a spontaneous trip up to Hood River for the night and we absolutely loved the spot. It is super quiet, close to town, and very peaceful. We loved it so much we are going to make regular trips up to Hood River now. Definitely stay here!

The site is beautiful and the directions to the site were excellent. However, the access is challenging. If you are comfortable with your rig, it’s a great site.

Thank you for your review Stephen and we're glad you chose our spot for your stay in Hood River! I agree, backing-in longer trailers can be a real challenge because of the sharp angle off the road to the campsite, so we appreciate your honest opinion and we're impressed with your parking skills too! :)

We really enjoyed this site. Kiraney has a beautiful property and it’s evident they have spent time creating and maintaining it. She was very responsive to my questions and her directions were very clear. The location is excellent. Outside the city but close in and very near lots of mountain biking. This was a family trip, but next one might be just for mt biking.
