Park your RV/self-contained trailer in our private woodlands steps away from the 6-acre Turtle Pond where ducks, geese, sand cranes, owls, turtles and frogs reside.  (This is a DRY/no amenities/no hookups/no toilet site).

Enjoy the tranquility of the Cascades and nearby Crater Lake NP in this beautiful rural setting. Great for travelers who prefer a private place to park their home on wheels while traveling to Crater Lake and the scenic Rogue-Umpqua area of the Cascades. Only 26 miles from the Crater Lake NP south entrance on the desirable Prospect side of the NP and most likely the closest private RV spot. Two miles outside of the little town of Prospect, along the waterfalls Hwy, 2 miles to the Rogue River (fishing and rafting), 2 miles to 3 waterfalls, 6 miles to Lost Creek Lake (boating and recreation), plus an abundance of serious hiking trails in nearby local area.

This serene and quiet spot consists of an open space nestled in beautiful mixed woodlands of mature doug fir, cedar, pine and madrone on our 100 acre ranch. (You won’t see our house or barn since this RV spot is on the other side of the property and away from the Ranch activity). It’s DRY, no power hookups, no toilets. Your RV must be fully self-contained. You must have your own toilet. “Pack in, pack out” is a must since this is a protected wilderness area. There’s a mix of sun and shade depending on the exact spot (within the designated area) you choose and the time of day. At approximately 2700 ft elevation, a fresh gentle breeze significantly cools the late afternoon and evening summer temperatures. Star-gazing is amazing. Most cell service carriers do get reception at this location, however, there is no WIFI.

A large parking area can be a pull-through-and-around with a level gravel pad.

Depending on the size of your vehicle, a longer RV/trailer may prefer to make a Y turn. Nature trails in the adjacent woodlands can be enjoyed in the immediate area.

You will be alone in this no-frills spot. Just you and nature and your RV home. There are only two completely private designated RV spots (separated by acreage) on our property. Check out our other site as well "Meadow Dry RV site..."

Fantastic stay! The directions were clear and despite a long journey we settled in easily. Great location in a small town close to Crater. You might not have cell reception but hey, who needs it? Delightful to take a few walks on the property. Recommend it!

The site was very beautiful. The daisies were beautiful and the bullfrogs in the pond were our music for the night. Very private and peaceful. Loved it!

We really appreciated the quiet site to get away from fireworks on the 4th! It’s close to the river and lakes. Easy to find and Daniel is great at communication! We would stay again.

Our stay at Turtle Pond was delightful. It’s a very secluded, tranquil, beautiful setting in the woods. Two Adirondack chairs and a little log table provide a perfect spot to sit and relax looking out from the woods down to the pond; you can dine or play games at the picnic table; and 2 hammocks provide a great place to nap. We found our way around the entire pond-at times you’ll think the trail has ended but it’s just little-used so keep going-it’s a lovely walk. Crater Lake is about 40 mins away; I’d suggest stopping at the Rogue River viewing site off the 62 and walking the short path along it; there are also a number of waterfalls in the area that you can drive to and hike. Our hosts, Daniel & Barbara, were friendly, helpful and super responsive. Do make sure you have handy their instructions for navigating their property-turning around is tricky on the narrow roads (we speak from experience:)). We stayed at Turtle Pond in a 32’ motorhome. The road in is narrow and bumpy, but we just took it slow and were fine.
