Let Camp Cricketwood serve as your home base to Central Oregon!

Hiking, biking, fishing, snowplay, rafting, spelunking, or just stroll through downtown Bend~ it’s all just minutes away.  Relax and birdwatch with hawks and eagles flying overhead daily. Cool desert evenings are perfect for a campfire and your stargazing enjoyment. Step out of your RV or trailer and enjoy the view of Mt Bachelor, or walk our neighborhood 2-mile loop for panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains.

We enjoy ‘country life’ but are just a short drive to the best local breweries, waterfalls, state parks, and trails in Bend, Sisters, Redmond, and the Lava Flows. Smith Rock, and Cascade Lakes are just a short drive away.

Campsite is located on our back field, (approx 2 acres), on a 30x45”’ gravel and dirt space. A fire ring and seating are nearby.  We provide a hose with potable water~ fresh cascade mountain spring water, perfect for filling up your water tank.

Electrical is also available (110v). Wifi is also up and running but we believe you’ll be distracted enough with the natural beauty abound, you won’t even want to check your email!

NOTE: This is a dry campsite only with NO RESTROOMS available, so we cannot accommodate tents campers, our apologies. If you see a tent pitched on the other side of the field, it’s just us enjoying the Great Outdoors, as we believe our back yard is the perfect place for camping :) Please say “Hi” to our goats: Costco & Coconut, and pick-up a pack of farm-fresh, organic eggs from our chicken flock.

We believe that Central Oregon is the best place on earth and we want to share that joy with you. We work hard and relax harder, and hope to extend that comfort to you during your stay at Camp Cricketwood!

Have questions? Just ask! We love to swap stories and fun local tips!

NOTE: The driveway to the campsite crosses over our irrigation creek with head gates which are easily navigated by a patient driver. Our parent’s 35' RV passes through no problem, but slow and steady is the ticket.

Ruth was great at communicating directions and setting clear expectations for the site. She was extremely welcoming and kind. The property is in the beautiful country side right outside of bend (8 miles) or so. It is an open field so not much privacy but it is far enough behind the house to feel secluded. It is very quiet and convenient to everything. I would definitely recommend and there is an awesome fire pit!!

Thank you Alyssa, we just planted a bunch of trees to help with the privacy and are happy you enjoyed your stay 😊

Wonderful hosts. Great communication and very friendly. It was fun to make breakfasts from their chicken eggs they hand delivered. Fire pit is nice and big and you have the whole back area to yourself. Basically a rural central Oregon farm/ranch type experience in a back field. You can tell they continue to work on and take good care of their property. Thanks!

We had a great stay at Camp Cricketwood. Camping is in an open area behind the house. Far enough from the house for privacy and quiet. Just a 10 minute drive from central Bend. Ruth and her family could not have been nicer! They clearly enjoy HipCamp guests and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable during the unusually hot weather. Hosts like Ruth and family are what make HipCamp great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camp Cricketwood.. the hosts were fantastic and very easy to communicate with. They also shared “locals” tips for things to see and do. The camp location offers beautiful views and a quiet setting. The night sky’s are spectacular and with the camp being just a couple of minutes out of town, we didn’t have the city light pollution to interrupt the ambiance. We will stay here again!

Ruth and Bobby were great hosts on a very clean and quiet property that served as a great base camp for Bend activities. The stargazing at night was spectacular and the variety of nearby farm animals was an added treat!
