Peaceful perfect beautiful
It was the perfect getaway location at first i was skeptical due to a review that was left on the property by a camper complaining about cell service and no wifi and weeds along the river shoreline. Lets take a step into real life cell service is not everywhere and your in the mountains kind of why i guessed they call it the getaway. My partner and i enjoyed our mini vacation to there cabin. It was picture perfect views to wake up to. There was wifi it was not great but it did work. And it was very clean and we felt safe. The host were really friendly when we finally got to meet them. We were givin a bunch of pears right from there tree as just a friendly gesture. I will be making plans to go back soon. The negitive side is its kind of close to a road but its not really noticed. I wish i would not of forgotten my air mattress . They did loan me an air mattress for my stay it was comfortable but i have had better. So dont forget your air mattress or cot. The fishing was ok we got 2 coho salmon they were both wild so they will live on for another camper. I hope you enjoyed your tip we left on the counter for you. Once again thank you
Easy access, beautiful setting!
This place is rad! It’s the perfect little weekend spot with just the right amenities to keep all types of folks occupied. I particularly enjoyed the deck overlooking the river, and the extra sleeping space in the upstairs loft. We fit 3 of us and dog very comfortably. Will definitely be staying here again in the future!
Perfect peaceful getaway!
My partner and I had a truly peaceful and lovely visit here. The location on the river is unbeatable; we enjoyed wading around in the water, checking out the local wildlife (crawdads, newts, beaver, bats, eagles, fish, herons, OH MY!) and just relaxing on the patio of the cabin. It’s an easy 30 minute drive to Waldport and the beach, so we went for a day trip one of the days.
The cabin had everything we needed (although it took us a bit to figure out the lights! The switches are small black circles on the wall, in case anyone else is blind like us, haha) including lots of drinking water, stove, fridge, tv, coffee maker, mugs, etc. Our only critique would be that the trash really was overflowing near the outhouse and needed to be cleaned up/taken away. Other than that, we loved it all!
If you like nature, this is place.
My partner and I loved the Alsea River cabin so much that we booked it again. Nestled right in front of the Alsea River, lush greenery and great animal watching. This time around we had the treat of having front row seats in watching a group of three River otters hunting in the early am for almost an hour. Along seeing with a family of ducks, a blue Heron, and bats at night.
There is now WiFi for the folks who thought that was a deal breaker, and yes there’s a highway nearby but you hardly notice it. If you like being in nature this place is for you !
Earl is a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. From genuine hospitality, extra dvds, puzzles, etc. We are grateful for having the opportunity to enjoy this cabin and create memories, thanks Earl!
We had a wonderful time on the Alsea River at Earl’s cabin! It was a quick drive off the coast and a beautiful and relaxing setting. We spent our time reading in the hammocks, drinking tea on the deck, and floating on the River while checking out the abundant river life (crawdads! Salamanders! Fish! Snails! Maybe a beaver???). Earl is clearly in the process of updating and adding amenities (a couch, side table, TV, lovely tomato plants on the deck, etc.) so we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival!
