Nestled into the forest on the edge of one of our family's most beautiful farms, sits this fully furnished bell tent. This secluded and quiet campsite sits atop one of the farm's rolling hills, overlooking a meandering creek below.

The tent's lovely deck (with plenty of comfy outdoor seating) lets you choose whether to gaze out at the sunrise/set over the fields where wild turkeys roam or into the lush, green, incredibly relaxing forest view. Either way, this is the perfect place to unplug, relax, clear your mind, read, meditate, and get away from the noise of everyday life.

The surrounding forest is great for off-the-beaten path hiking to immerse yourself in nature & greenery (forest bathing!). The farm itself is surrounded by quaint country roads, farms, and homes to explore. Follow the river road to do some wading, fishing, swimming, or simply sitting in this gorgeous bucolic setting to calm your nervous system and let stress melt away.

Nearby, within 20 minutes' drive, are Stratford and St. Marys - both lovely towns with lots of beauty & culture to offer if/when you're wanting to re-enter civilization!

Julia has a beautiful property and is such a wonderful host!

The tent itself was spacious and everything you need for a night (or a few) is provided. The bed is comfortable and the linens were clean. The deck has ample space and is such a lovely place to sit and enjoy the forest/field. We sadly had the (personal) misfortune of experiencing quite a lot of large wolf spiders coming up from the deck. This is likely more of a seasonal problem but if you're uncomfortable with spiders I'd recommend reaching out to Julia to see if they're currently an issue. At the end of the day, you are camping in an open floor tent over a deck so you can expect bugs!

During the day we popped over to Stratford (my hometown) and grabbed a coffee and walked around, playing tourist. When we got back to the property, we decided to explore the forest (directions for getting into the woods/down to the creek/river are provided in a handbook in the tent) followed by relaxing on the deck taking in nature. We saw some wild turkeys and at night we were able to stargaze and enjoy a fire while listening to the sounds of coyotes, crickets, and an owl!

Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Julia's HipCamp!

You can park right beside the tent, making loading/unloading easy!Midway between the outhouse and the cabin at the end of the laneway, you should be able to find a deer trail to follow into the woods. This photo is taken directly beside the best entrance, looking back towards the outhouse/tent area.Experience the area! The essentials.
