Welcome to your private campsite! You'll be camping on a 48-acre, forested property where we only host 1 campsite, which is extremely private with no visible houses or other campsites nearby. The campsite is within our woods on a large south-facing hill, accessible by a walking trail from our parking lot (approx. 15-minute walk). You will have access to 2 parking spots for normal-sized vehicles.
The campsite is a cleared area in the woods with ample space for 2 tents. The site overlooks Coleman Lake (obstructed distant view through trees), and the property directly abuts Redstone Lake (not visible from your campsite).
We do not provide direct lake access, but you are welcome to use the public boat launch that is a 1 km drive/walk from our property. There are some great areas on the lake for you to explore, so bring your water toys (canoe, kayak, or paddle-board) if you have them!
A great feature of our property is the privacy and feeling of remoteness combined with easy access to nearby amenities. The town of West Guilford is just a 10-minute drive from our property and has a great local store for food, snacks, and beverages. The Haliburton Highlands Brewery is just another 5 minutes away on Highway 118. The Haliburton Wolf Forest Centre has great activities year-round and is only a 15-minute drive away.
We live on the property, just down the hill past the parking area. We ask that you respect our privacy and not continue on the driveway past the parking area. However, if need us we're just a phone call or text message away (cell service is spotty in the general area but half decent at the camp site).
Please note that due to the remoteness of this site, camp fires are not allowed. Cooking stoves etc are perfectly acceptable.

A mossy sanctuary
Andrew's land is absolutely incredible. After the perfect amount of driving in and hiking up, we reached our sweet reward - a soft, mossy sanctuary perfect for a solo, couple, or friend group getaway. We greatly enjoyed our time amongst the maple trees and deer, and really appreciated the added comforts of provided clean water, the picnic table, and a compost toilet. Our hosts were so kind and welcoming while also giving us the perfect amount of privacy. We will definitely be going back!
Beautiful, private forest site!
This site, in a mature hardwood forest, was beautiful and extremely private! The short walk in from the parking area was just far enough to feel a little bit away from it all. The site was thoughtfully maintained and the hosts were lovely and very welcoming! They even carried fresh water into the site for us, which, with two small children, we really appreciated. We brought our canoe and enjoyed Redstone lake via the boat launch that is very close by. Thanks to Andrew and Jessica for a fantastic weekend! We may book again next year as we were smitten with the Haliburton Highlands!
Backcountry with perks!
Our stay at Andrew's property was wonderful! The area is quiet and peaceful. The campsite is a 10 minute uphill walk from the main driveway, so be prepared for a small hike in. Only bring what you need to try and do one trip up with your gear (unless you don't mind the exercise!). The site itself is large and feels like your backcountry camping, with the luxuries of the composting outhouse, picnic table, and water that Andrew provides. There is a boat launch walking distance away (~20min from the top of the campsite) where you can go swimming or bring your canoe/ kayak.
Andrew, Jess, and their dog Elvis are very friendly and kind hosts, I would recommend their campsite to anyone! Thank you so much for a great weekend :) - Candice & Lucas
