Our Canvas "Glamping Tent" with WOODSTOVE, is nestled in a mixed forest grove of Maple, Oak, and Pine trees in the middle of our small Maple Sugar bush on our 6 acre family hobby farm. And the Fall Colours are now BEAUTIFULLY on display here.

The "Glampsite" is nicely secluded from farm life and neighbors and it is FULLY outfitted with camping necessities for sleeping 4 adults/children comfortably (1 QUEEN SIZE bed, 1 TWIN SIZE Daybed, and a MICRO TWIN size (24"w x 6' L) Chaise lounge. All linens, blankets and pillows are supplied.

The small  WOODSTOVE with firebox window, (ie: you can see the fire) is great for keeping warm in the tent on those chilly Fall nights, and comes ready stocked with wood.

It also comes fully stocked with all cooking and eating necessities (pots, pans dishes, cutlery) a propane BBQ,  a 2- burner camp stove, 5 gallon jug of drinking water, and a screened dining tent with picnic table are on site. All you need to bring is a cooler of food, beverages and bug spray (lol).

The firepit has a load of firewood ready for your first night, plus 2 muskoka chairs, a small wooden bench, marshmallow roasting sticks, and a fireside hammock, ready for your use.

Our property is located on the very edge of the Canadian Shield, so most of the landscape is slightly rocky, rugged, and naturally wooded. But it is NOT densely forested with thick undergrowth, and thus has open visibility throughout the Maple Sugarbush, including distant visibility of the other campsite [Pine Grove Site]- on our property, and our neighbor's homes.

The property has a "park like" feel to it, with numerous short & looping, walking trails that meander throughout the Sugarbush, pasture area, 3 season pond (ie; it dries up during June, July & August) and our farm animal "homes". These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers, see and hear songbirds, small animal wildlife, and of course, farm life too. In the Fall Season the trails are transformed into beautiful walkways of colour as the Fall leaves blanket the ground in red, orange and yellow.

We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution, and we can give you a list of dates of when more interesting night displays are happening in the sky (ie: meteor showers, etc) upon request.

We are a "hobby farm" , and we have a small, but varied collection of farm animals, and gardens. We have lots of chickens, (including roosters who crow in the early morning hours) 2 miniature goats, 2 horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog. During your stay with us you are welcome to come learn about and interact with our animals and daily farm life, if you so desire. (farm fresh eggs and maple syrup are also available to purchase).

Campers should also be aware that we live in a rural area, and NOT a wilderness area. So it is NOT "wilderness quiet" here, but it IS countryside quiet. We are in close proximity (hearing distance) to a local 2 lane highway that does produce minimal background traffic noise during the day, but is almost non-existent of noise at night, we have neighbors, and we have farm animals that make noise and produce "smells", but.... that is the "Charm of the Farm" :-)

There are also many local options available for recreational activities and historic sites off the property. We have 2 local lakes, with swimming & boating options, (7 mins drive away) and many biking and hiking areas, including the Cataraqui Trail, the K & P Trail and the Rideau Trail. All of which are within a 10 minute drive of our home. Frontenac Provincial Park is a 25 minute drive away, with more rugged interior day hiking trails.

Local restaurants, gas, grocery and drug stores are a  5 minute drive away.

And finally, the nationally historic City of Kingston, (aka "The Limestone City" ) located at the head of the St Lawrence River at the end of Lake Ontario is home to many historic sites and museums such as; Fort Henry, RMC, Queen's University, CFB Kingston and the infamous Kingston Penitentiary, AND is only a 20 minute drive away. You certainly will not be bored or lacking things to do and see both on and off the farm.

The stay at the Black Maple Farm was so wonderful! We had everything we needed to make meals and get nice and toasty in the tent. The set up was perfect and easy. Elizabeth was a gracious host who was great to talk with about farm life and the plans she had to share it with folks. It was fun to visit the animals, have fires, and enjoy the super comfy bed and sofas inside the tent. I will be back again with the rest of the family in tow. Highly recommend!

Lisa and her family are wonderful hosts. They took care of all our needs. The tent is cute, stocked with everything you’ll need, spacious and super clean. The camp is situated close to all kinds of outdoor activity within a short driving or biking distance. Must like chatty roosters, adorable miniature goats and horses. The camp is set far back from the main house for privacy. There is a second camp (no tent) on site. The fireflies were magical!

This was a great location for a weekend away glamping at Maple Farm. Lisa was a fabulous host, and was very accommodating. The tent was set up really well for our family. We had everything we needed for our stay. Our boys really loved playing with the Goats, they were so adorable. The horses were beautiful too.

We found plenty of places to visit close to the farm from swimming to hiring a boat.

It was great that we could also bring our dog too !

We would definitely head back for another visit.
