Our stay was amazing. Amanda was great and on point with everything. The park was extremely clean. Bathrooms and showers were both clean and accessible. ZERO complaints about our stay. We loved every minute of it. Especially our camp spot!! the cliff's and view were beyond beautiful!! We will definitely be back next year!!!
Beautiful and peaceful!
The camp is absolutely beautiful! They sit on a large hill that overlooks the city of Heavner with multiple look out points. They also have an playground, FLUSH toilets (first time I'd seen those on any campsite in quite a while), showers, an amphitheater, multiple nature trails including one to a large rock cliff/cave area that has a stone with engravings with rich history. Amanda is super nice and wants this campsite to be the best it can be. This used to be a state park but they had to sell it off - now a group of volunteers run this with some support from the city of Heavener.
This campsite is perfect for any type of visitor and it offers quick access to other things nearby such as Talimena drive.
We had an exceptional experience! Amanda was very helpful and had great communication. The park is a real gem from the moderately challenging hike (especially after it rains) to the incredible views up on the hill. This has to be one of the best sunsets in Oklahoma! We will definitely be visiting again.
Really enjoyed my stay!
What a great place! Highly recommend a stop here. Nice tent campsites. Excellent views. Super quiet. Has some nice hiking trails. Hosts were super friendly. Will definitely stop in again if I am in the area. Keep up the good work.
