The covered pavilion comes in handy during the rainy days and offers a safe play zone for children. This spot is distanced from other sites providing more privacy. The site features a couple of picnic tables, a grill and fire ring. The ground is leveled out for tents to be easily set up. Three large tents could easily be used if so desired. A great camping find !
OP was a great find for our family and Amanda couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a nice camping spot, power, water, shower and toilets, combined with a nice amount of privacy. Definitely on our revisit list for the future.
What a lovely place to stay! Amanda and her family are so sweet and helpful. They met me and showed me around; my dog and I enjoyed a quiet night with fireflies and went hiking around the whole park the next morning. I will definitely stay here again ♥
A little piece of heaven in heavner
This was the most beautiful place we have visited in a while. So peaceful and Amanda, the park care taker was very friendly and helpful. We even arrived late and asked her to help us to our site and she was so helpful. Fireworks were a bonus. We would definitely stay here again.
Views for days and sunsets beyond
Amazing Views and Sunsets, Great Privacy, Loved having the coverage from the Pavilion. There was a good deal of water under the Pavilion but they told us they are working on correcting that. Anytime we were out and about we saw someone working, cleaning, watching over the park. Locked gate at 10PM. Plenty of trails for a weekend plus the Runestone to check out.
Lovely view, nice stay
This was a nice site with a great view and having the pavilion was awesome! There was a lot of water inside the pavilion which they said they are working on getting fixed. Overall very happy with it for the price!
Beautiful heavener runestone park
A former state park, Heavener Runestone Park is a beautiful place to stop and take in the view from the Overlook or camp for a night and explore the mysterious Runestone. The Runestone is surrounded by overhanging rock features that are a highlight of any visit to the Eastern Ok./Western Ark. area. Spring was an excellent time to visit with flowers and trees in full bloom.
