Another lovely night at Sky Valley Acres! This is such a great camp, I have stayed at sites 1 and 2 which are so easy to car-camp from although Ash has some even more off the beaten path areas on her huge beautiful property if you prefer! The sites are clean with big fire pits and brand new spotless wooden picnic benches. There are plenty of areas to pitch a tent and it is nice and flat and cleared. Site 2 has an amazing view of the sunset!
I felt really safe there and my dog had a blast. Ash is super quick to respond if you have questions or need help with anything. Far and above the most comfortable campsite I have been to in quite some time! Oh, it's also super quiet and peaceful.
Isolated and peaceful.
This was one of the most peaceful camping experiences I’ve had. My boys and I had a fantastic time. The host was great and met us and guided us to our spot that was a nice isolated camping experience.
The orange one?
It was one of the most important getaways of my life and I could not have asked for a better place to stay. I enjoy my alone time and the sweet guests provided me as much attention as I required. The rest of the time I was left to my activities, in peace. I’m not sure if I was too loud at night because no one asked me to turn it down. I was sceptical when I was told that I shouldn’t worry; I’m not sceptical anymore. I went when it was cold and wet, it was very uncomfortable compared to my home, and I loved it. The crows were singing, the coyotes were coordinating, and the “Big House” pups were on alert. The clanking of the night workers reminded me that while some of us slept at night, others find purpose grinding away so the rest of us can enjoy energy. We could have easily set up camp inside the 20 acres of forest and grasslands! For my first time, I felt safe being next to the Big House, the gravel road, the clanking, and the amazing view of a cross (lit up at night) on the top of a hill (religious or not, it was beautiful to look at). I am going back again very soon, hopefully when it snows. I plan on bringing much less and staying out in the woods. The hosts gave me complete freedom of the property, minus their hidden stash of icecream :). The freedom of making fires is up to the campers responsibility and law, I loved this. Please educate yourself, if you do not know how to safely start and stop a campfire. There are various signs of expansion and I can’t wait to see what is in store! An hour and a half away from slowing down the rush of human existence.
Great spot, welcoming hosts!
Great private stay. It was just my son and I but there was plenty of space for a big group. We found a spot surrounded by trees and plenty of open sky. The hosts did a great job of communicating in advance. It had been raining so they gave us a heads up on muddy situation we were about to encounter and how to best navigate. The entire stay was great, my son was already planning our next stay!
It was perfect for my uses. Being on a road trip I just need a place to stay but this site went above and beyond. The hosts brought out a fire pit for me which I used all night, it was awesome. Lots of dry wood around to use. They also stopped by to say hello which was nice of them. Also the views I got were great. Will definitely be back if I cross the area again!
Something for everyone!
This is one of the best Hipcamp sites I have stayed at. Host Ash has done an excellent job creating a camping area that caters to novice and advanced campers alike. His two established campsites feature picnic tables, a fire pit, and tarp on the ground for tents. Firewood at this campsite is abundant and you have free reign to grab as much as you need. For those who enjoy back country camping Ash has 30 scenic acres filled with wildflowers for you to find that perfect campsite in. As you leave the campsite there is even a waste receptacle to dispose of your trash with. Another great thing about this site is the ability of the host to communicate. Shortly after I booked the site he messaged me and made sure I was aware of the layout of the property and the best places to camp. Overall I highly recommend this site for your next camping trip!
The host was awesome!! So nice and helpful, and communicated with us to help with directions. I would definitely recommend his campsite to anyone who is coming through Oklahoma, and we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Ash!
Just what i needed!
Ash was super responsive and friendly! I was tent camping alone during a trip across the country for a move, and this location was exactly what I needed to be safe, remote, and a calm break from all the driving. Would highly recommend!
i booked a solo weekend trip. the directions to the property were accurate and the site i stayed at was a really good size. I was able to explore by drive around part of the property in my truck and walking portion of the trail. I unexpectedly had to leave early and Ash was very understanding. I will definitely be rebooking in the future
