The campsites are in secluded clearings each with space for a 4 person tent and its own fire ring.they are situated around the main field which contains our 60 foot longhall and large communal fire pit.within the longhall is a kitchen containing a 4 ring burner there is also a 5 burner gas grill if barbaqueing is your thing.
Also on the site are other Viking/fantasy buildings,an 18 foot diameter yurt,a 16 foot Viking wedge tent,2 small lodges,a screened in bar and even a medieval war wagon.
The recently completed shower house is a beautiful thing to behold, hot water and cedar lined
The main area of the camp is ideal for just kicking back and watching the wildlife during the day and on clear nights the amazing star laden sky.there is plenty of space for lawn games including kube, cornhole and horseshoes.
The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway ( state route 32) for convenience but far enough not to be bothered by it.The area is steeped in Native American culture in fact the world famous Serpent Mound is but 8 miles away, with many other Adena culture sites within easy driving distance. Its also in the heart of the Amish community
The area is known for its natural beauty with many hiking trails and canoeing opportunities.

Wow! how soon can we go back?!
Wow! Where to begin?!
We are on a year long road trip and camp/Hipcamp a lot and this has been one of our favorites places of the past 6 months (and it even rained our last day!).
The space was so great. There was a short path behind our site that lead down to the creek so we had creekside dinner each night. On the other side was a large grassy area for the kids to run around in. There are lawn games available to play whenever you like, as well as axe throwing!! There's even a kids (plastic) axe throwing game that they brought out for us (our son loved it!)
However, the best part of the space was the Viking Longhall. Incredible! We were fortunate enough to get to spend some time there since nobody had booked it our first night. It's beautiful! So much attention to detail.
All that said, the best part of this Hipcamp are the hosts. David and Iveagh are so amazing! Some of the nicest people we have met and incredibly hospitable. When we arrived our campfire was already set up for us (getting wood is never our favorite activity so this was huge) and each morning David brought down coffee for everyone. Even in the rain!! This gesture meant so much to us. We truly enjoyed chatting with them and hearing their stories, but they were also respectful of everyone's space and privacy.
We definitely left with a lot of memories (and new friends :)
What a lovely campground and super friendly host! Our creekside campsite was peaceful, beautiful, and picturesque. It rained the whole time we were there but good times were not deterred due to ample opportunities to shelter. Coffee, cream and sugar were delivered every morning and our gracious host never left us short on fire wood or fresh spring water. 10/10!!
One word… BREATHTAKING!
We have been longing for an escape from reality for quite sometime and we absolutely found it here at the Viking Longhall! One of the key Norse virtues is Hospitality, and you’ll find no shortage here. I have never experienced this caliber of hospitality even at a five-star resort. Completely blown away and I know our life has been changed by this experience. Disconnecting from electronics and reality and allowing ourselves to fully ground in serene nature is like chicken soup for the soul. Such great energy here! We will never forget this experience, and we will be back soon!!
Viking longhaul success
We love Viking Longhaul. Our host greeted us upon arrival. They made sleeping arrangements for us to keep us out of inclement weather. We made the best of our wet adventure. The yurt is very comfortable. Our hosts were thoughtful and brought us tea and coffee in the morning. The creek was a huge hit with our 9 year old son. He made cairns all over the beach area. We hope to venture back here in the future.
Absolutely a magically beautiful campsite. The long hall craftsmanship and architecture is stellar. We didn’t want to leave. An inspiration to create a themed campground of my own! We definitely will be back!
