Our campsite is 5 acres nestled in a small hollow of the Appalachian foothills in beautiful southwestern Ohio.Surrounded on 3 sides by a small creek is a small Viking/ fantasy village. The campsites are in secluded clearings each with space for a 4 person tent and its own fire ring.they are situated around the main field which contains our 60 foot longhall and large communal fire pit.within the longhall is a kitchen containing a 4 ring burner there is also a 5 burner gas grill if barbaqueing is your thing.
Also on the site are other Viking/fantasy buildings,an 18 foot diameter yurt,a 16 foot Viking wedge tent,2 small lodges,a screened in bar and even a medieval war wagon.
The recently completed shower house is a beautiful thing to behold, hot water and cedar lined
The main area of the camp is ideal for just kicking back and watching the wildlife during the day and on clear nights the amazing star laden sky.there is plenty of space for lawn games including kube, cornhole and horseshoes.
The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway ( state route 32) for convenience but far enough not to be bothered by it.The area is steeped in Native American culture in fact the world famous Serpent Mound is but 8 miles away, with many other Adena culture sites within easy driving distance. Its also in the heart of the Amish community
The area is known for its natural beauty with many hiking trails and canoeing opportunities.
Please be aware this is a rural area and as such you will encounter nature. We cannot be responsible for the woodland creatures you may encounter. Recently we have had people complaining because of flying squirrels, raccoons and even a wasp. We live in their environment and as such we must adapt. We are very proud and protective of the many different and varied creatures living on the 5 acres that make up the campground.

What can I say? David & his Viking-inspired Campgrounds continue to be one of the most magical locations in Southern Ohio to spend an evening or long weekend relaxing and escaping the daily hustle. This was now our third visit tent camping at the Viking Longhalll, and we are more & more impressed each & every time. 10/10 would recommend. Will definitely be back for more!
A wonderful campground built with tons of care. The Long Hall structure is beautifully built and inspiring. David goes above and beyond as a host, offering extra water, firewood, extra time of generator power, etc. Plus he’s great to chat with! The gas heated camp shower is very nice and the activities and games available to all guests are great.
Really awesome place to come camp! Dave was awesome he suggested places to see around the area, brought us fresh spring water from serpent mound, hot coffee in the morning and firewood!
Absolutely beautiful! I stayed in the back cabin and it was warm and comfortable. Surrounded 360 with fireflies as I slept. Everything you’d need and more was made available. There was wood prepared in the fire pit when I arrived, all I had to do was light a match. And a warm shower in the morning was so nice 👌 The longhall was stunning. So many fine details! David was very kind and helpful. I feel like I had a weekend at a spa!

A beautiful site, Dave was very gracious and accommodating. Since we were the only ones on site he bumped us into the cottage at no extra charge. Will come back!
We had a fantastic time exploring, learning to throw an axe and shoot a bow, and relaxing at our campsite. The hosts were so kind.
We had a great weekend at the Viking Longhall tent camps. This was our favorite camping experience to date. David and Ivea were fantastic hosts even before we got there. It was a rainy week, and David was in communication the whole time. He noted our tent area was prone to flooding, but we could stay in the Longhall the 1st night until our area dried out. We didn't need to, but it was nice there was an alternative available.
They also welcomed us at check in, showed us where we could set up, made sure we had what we needed each day (coffee, firewood, propane grill), and asked us how we slept. They talked with us about the Longhall, the other buildings on the property, the plants, and history of the area. Our group loved all the information!
The grounds are beautiful.
The axe throwing and archery was a great way to pass the time. They had options for the kids as well (kid's axe throwing, and safety ends for the arrows). They let us know we could explore the Longhall our 1st day, but a group was coming in our 2nd night. The group was large, but we barely heard them from where our tents were. We were also able to explore our checkout day.
We'll be back for sure!

Tent camping with amenities. The property is well maintained and the camp sites maintain seclusion while the field, communal fire pit, and long hall provide and promote community and socialization. It the best of both worlds. The outdoor shower and outhouse are top notch and provided with toiletries. A creek horseshoes this holler to enhance the scenery and serenity providing a peaceful camping retreat. The hosts provide coffee, firewood, and water and great conversation. Definitely made a great memory! Skal!!
