Our little campground is nestled in the corner of one of our pasture fields and surrounded by trees and nature. There is a rustic driveway all the way down to the camping area. There is a larger open area the campers can set up tents and also multiple sites in the woods where campers can enjoy the seclusion and beauty of nature. There is a small stream below the campground that they are welcome to explore and we have some trails mowed that can be hiked. We are a pet friendly campground but we just ask that you keep a close eye on your pets and don't allow them to chase or disturb the cattle on the farm. There are fields down around the campground and in the spring campers will quite often see cattle and even new baby calves with their mothers. The cattle are very tame but don't try to pet them. There is a 3/4 acre pond above the campground that the campers are welcome to fish in the pond and if they swim they must do it at their own risk.

Price is based on 11 years old and older, Children 10 and under are free. The lower area campground that has signs say reservations only called Kirmit’s Bottom is only to be camped in when approved by Matt. It is for larger groups. We do have a couple of sites also that you must have 4x4 to get to and you also need to talk to Matt beforehand. We try to provide firewood available for purchase at all times but there will be times when I’m not able to do that so you can bring a saw or hatchet and cut any down wood in the woods. Also toilet paper is some thing that you should bring because at times the Porta-Johns run out. If you are a bicyclist coming from the trail make sure you exit the trail at Walmart and map up county road 58 to get to the camp (2.5miles), that way is blacktop otherwise it will bring you in the gravel side.

Primitive camping has its own risks associated with it, anyone camping at Turkey Hollow acknowledges that risk by camping here and will not hold Turkey Hollow or its owner liable for any injuries or damage that might take place while camping here.

Me and my roommate had an awesome stay at this site! It was private enough that we had privacy but we were still close enough to other people that we felt safe. Two things to note, the driveway can be very rigid. I have an SUV so I was fine but I can’t imagine it would be great on a smaller car. The second note would be there is an off leash cattle dog that roams. She didn’t bother us but scared us at first because we didn’t know who she belonged to. The local dogs will bark ALL NIGHT. I was able to sleep after a while but it did keep me up for quite a bit. I would definitely stay here again now that I know what to expect.

Sites were spacious and had nice picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Water from the camp was drinkable without filtering and firewood was available for sale but able to scavenge for more than we needed. Parking area could be a little bigger as our two trucks took 3/4 of the lot but is more only negative. Plus side was close enough to downtown millersburg if you like checking out antiques or check out millersburg brewing company for lunch. Matt was quick to respond and look forward to camping again

I have a hard time recommending this one. There was trash everywhere left by previous ignorant campers. The sites were about fifty feet apart with no seclusion, and very little parking room.

During the day it was noisy - truck backing alarms, wood splitters, tractors, and a very busy road nearby. At night there were dogs barking and fighting in two different direction all throughout the night (plus that busy road, police sirens). The host was nowhere to be seen, and never responded to two messages I wrote him about site availability. On a positive note, the area was beautiful and I loved seeing and hearing the cows, and the ride to this area from Cleveland was so scenic in Autumn.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience, it is not normal at all for trash or noise. We are usually a very quiet are and there other sites tucked way back in.

A very lush peaceful, private camping spot. The wooded campsites, pond, creek, and wildlife were special!

The descriptions on hipcamp and the camps website are very accurate. Maps landed us right at the main drive. And the view of the hollow near sunset was stunning. This is a beautiful bit of land. The tight switchbacks on the stone access road were an adventure on their own, but it was navigated easily enough. The cows at pasture were a huge hit with everyone in our group. The hospitality and laid back approach to the entire process was truly appreciated. Although we never had the entire place to ourselves, it sure felt like we did! If you're looking for primitive tent camping this is a fantastic spot.

Beautiful, ‘primitive sites’. Had everything you need, best part for my party was the clean portapotty and amazing stargazing at night. Would definitely visit again!

We had a lovely stay hammock camping at Turkey Hollow. There were plenty of great trees for hammocks, nice fire rings, and picnic tables. There was dry firewood available to purchase (bring cash for that). We had the area to ourselves, and the land is beautiful. The cows were a nice addition. The walk to the spigot was up the hill, but great views of the surrounding area on the way back down the hill. We did hear some traffic noise from nearby roads, but that didn't take away from the experience at all. I would definitely stay at Turkey Hollow again.

View from my hammock of the rest of the site.
