Life abounds organically at Lamppost Farm with cattle, pigs, chickens, turkeys, wildlife, and more living their best lives. A night in the Outskirts of Lamppost Farm will give you a taste of a working farm that values the relationships between animals, farmers, neighbors, and the various other resources of the land. Whether on the edges of a pasture, under a canopy of oak trees, or sitting beside an active and beautiful wetland, your time on the Outskirts of Lamppost Farm will rejuvenate and reenergize you.
We are within short drives from a variety of State Parks offering hiking, biking, disc golfing, rock climbing, boating, and many more outdoor activities. And, named the Nicest Place in America by Reader's Digest, our town of Columbiana offers a variety of quality restaurants, wineries, and a renowned brewery owned by our friends at Birdfish Brewery.A short hike across our pastures and a land bridge will lead to picturesque campsite alongside of a wetland with active beavers, seasonal and resident waterfowl varieties, a nearby eagle nest, deer, turkeys, and more. This site is landlocked inside of property once owned by inventory and entrepreneur Harvey Firestone.
Depending on the timing of our cattle herd rotation, you could be serenaded by the sounds of a grazing herd, be a witness to calves being born, or catch glimpses of them running with tails in the air as the sun sets. In the Spring and Fall, the call of colorful wood ducks may greet you in the morning. And, bobcats and river otters have been seen in the area as well.
Water is available from hydrants around the farm but will need to be carried to your site. And guests may arrange to buy eggs and meat from our store while here.
